Conner didn't want to insult the devil by comparing Knowlton to him, but his time in the cage with him would be nothing short of hell.
He and Max were alone in the locker room, the fluorescent lights almost out of place.
Max tore a piece of tape and wrapped it around Conner's mummy hands. "Is Delilah in the crowd?"
Her name alone got him out of his head and into his body, and he shook his head.
Max looked up. "Did you two behave?"
Conner didn't explain that she stayed in her room all morning after they made out like a couple of teenagers, and that he hadn't seen her since Hector drove them home, but they made a pact that regardless of the fight results, he'd see her first.
