NooriyyaFew years back if someone told me I would find happiness, I mean genuine happiness I wouldn't believe him but Allah had shown me nothing is impossible because my prayers have been answered. I have a man in my life that loves and appreciate me, a man who treats me as a queen and thinks I am a blessing just for being in his life and he love my son as if he was his, what more can I ask for? I had my reservations at first but seeing how he made my son and I his priority it took no time before I fell head over heels for him. Munnir is a kind of person that makes effort in seeing his patner happy, how lucky could I ever be?
Few days back Abbad fell sick, he fainted twice and his temperature was very high. I was so confused, it started as a mild fever I gave him paracetamol and he went to sleep only for me to wake up and find him shivering like a leaf.
"Momma am cold" he said in his tiny voice, eyes closed.
Immediately I held my hand to his forehead and was welcomed with heat radiating from him. I leaped from bed to look for his blanket and brought a bowl of cold water and cloth to help bring down the fever but nothing happened if not the fever going up instead of down, I was so scared because it started becoming scary and tears falling from my eyes and then he started convulsing, a loud sob escaped from my throat and I picked him up bridal style and rushed to umma's room calling out her name whilst whispering any prayer that comes to my mind to Allah.
"Umma, my son is going to die see what he is doing" I said holding him to her, she jumped out of bed and immediately tried to pry him from me by that time Abbad has fainted. When I saw his feature I lost it thinking he is dead, I was wailing every part of my body was trembling.
"Umma look he isn't moving, he is dead Umma my son is dead" was all I kept saying while Umma draped her hijab over her body and left the room with Abbad in her arms. I followed behind her in a hesteric state, she placed him in the car and entered the driver seat ordering the gate man to open the gate. It was around 1 a.m in the night, Umma dialed munnir 's number while driving, she told him to meet us at the hospital we were on our way, without asking questions he answered with he would be there shortly .
We arrived at the hospital almost at the same time with munnir, he leaped out of his car and collected Abbad from Umma and he dashed into the hospital straight to the emergency ward, while we waited at the reception. I broke down on the floor crying, Umma held my hand and hugged me telling me to be strong for him and everything would be fine, she managed to calm me but I kept praying for Allah to protect him and keep him alive.
After an hour the doctor came out, he is a friend of munnir, he is the doctor on duty that night. He came towards us, upon seeing him I sprinted towards him my heart thumping and told us not to worry everything is under control, we can go in and see him. I head toward the room he was transferred into with ummah and Dr. Jabir behind us,I opened the door and there munnir stood in his pj's and a pair of crocs slippers, his hand holding Abbad's left hand with a drip attached to it, the site made my heart squeezed. They amount of care I saw in his eyes and his worry etched face, right there and then I knew my son and I are lucky to have a wonderful person in hour life. I felt more calm and I approached the bed straining my neck to peek at my boy lying on the bed sleeping, munnir stood up carefully putting down Abbad's hand down making way for me to properly see my son, I looked at him and he nodded as if in confirmation that he is alright. I released a breath I didn't even know I was holding back, I extended my hand and touched his hair stroking him gently and praising Allah for this blessing. Umma moved forward smiling and then we all stepped out, we thanked Dr. Abdul for his assistance while he dismissed it as he was doing his job. Munnir suggested me and Umma should go home he will stay with Abbad but I refused after a lot of disagreement, it was agreed that Dr. Abdul will drop Umma at home while munnir and I would stay with Abbad because we both refused to back down, knowing myself I won't be able to get any sleep at home. Umma bid us goodnight and promised to come back in the morning Dr Abdul followed after her.
