CHAPTER TWENTY TWO

Fahad and nooriyya

She slowly opened her eyes and was welcomed by the streaming morning lights from the window. The drapes were still drawn but the lights find few escape routes into the room. She waited for eyes to adjust to the lights, Nooriyya scanned the room for her one and only room mate, fahad. He was no where in sight. that's a first, she thought. These pass few days, fahad have been by her side always. She fall asleep with him by her side and wake up to him still there, jumping to assist her when necessary. He work from home all through the days, she appreciates his dedication to seeing she feels safe and better. He forbade her from leaving the bed at all, unless in necessary situations. Their relationship had improved significantly, the awkwardness between them slipping away. She is really glad for this new development, having a better relation with fahad had made her feel more secure and comfortable around him.
He spend a lot of time with her, telling her stories about his travels, around the world and he have quite a collection of funny jokes that makes her crack up with a tear or two falling from her eyes.

She gently veered off the bed, immediately missing the warm comfort of the comforter. She slipped on her flats by the bed foot. She made her way to the bathroom for a quick bath and after that she will go in search of fahad. She's in a cheery mood today and craving for the local food "danwake". She made up her mind to make some after taking her bath.

Standing in front of the mirror, Nooriyya looked at her freshly applied make up, admiring her handy work. She tried applying the basic makeup she learnt on YouTube, which entails applying foundation in the right places, lip lining and applying lipstick the right way. She also applied eyeliner and mascara with just the right amount of kohl that made her eyes pop. She wore a mustard yellow peplum dress with a black straight skirt and used a black veil to tie turban on head. She heard laughter erupting from somewhere in the house, she quickly sprayed her perfumes and went to investigate the source of laughter and voices.

Descending the stairs, a familiar sound welcomed her. She quickened her pace to see if her ears weren't deceiving her.

"Are you sure you want this? he asked laughing while holding up a packet of chocolate and lowering it above abbad's head while abbad keeps jumping up trying to reach the chocolate.

"Uncle give me! Give me!" He kept saying while trying to get to the chocolate.

Fahad lowers the chocolate a little, abbad almost caught it but he held it up immediately. He used his Spare hand to tickle abbad and before you know it both of them are on the floor tackling each other. Filling up the house with their laughter which is like a melody to the ears of Nooriyya. She stood transfixed, looking at the scene playing in front of her. She hadn't seen abbad this happy in a long time. He used to be very happy around munnir but seeing him with fahad she couldn't help but see them like a real father and son. The chemistry between them is so obvious, they looked so much happier around each other. This is the first time she's seeing fahad genuinely laughing without a care in the world. His face looked more handsome, his eyes twinkling.

She finally decided to make her presence known, "ouch!" She held her left leg wincing.

They both stopped and dash towards her forgetting their battle. She didn't know who came first, "momma are you hurt?" Her little warrior asked while fahad bent before her trying to inspect the problem. She quickly pulled out the diary milk chocolate from his pocket and made a dash for it, laughing at them.

"Momma tricked us" abbad said with a yelp while fahad stood wide eyed. They both looked at each other before jumping into action. They ran after her while she made her way out the door into the backyard, they chase after her for a while then she tripped over a water hose and fell on the green looking carpet grass with a thud.
