Summary: They say beware of the silent ones. Though you don't seem to follow the same code.
She wasn't one prone to make good decisions, though that statement was debatable for some. It was all a matter of opinion and where your trust with the mech lied on the vastness of possibility. There was a chance that he hated everything about her, or that his loyalty to her was just as strong as his vows to remain within the decepticon ranks with Megatron. However things changed when the war started.
They chose different sides, and sparkling relationships seemed to fizzle out and within it formed a wordless pact that when faced on the battlefield together neither would engage the other. The feelings were still there and so were the memories and differing views would never get between whatever there was to see.
Yet today was different, and Y/N was in trouble. Ratchet was enraged, and everyone else was just confused. Y/N had never hesitated on the battlefield before, but when she was faced with Soundwave instead of the expected Vehicon Y/N had stopped. Yet so had he, and in that she had given him the opportunity to escape through a ground bridge. Taking the artifact with him, another loss for the autobots. No one else in the team understood, but there was only one bot who was concerned about the femme's wellbeing. The fact she hadn't said a word since returning back to the base after the failed mission, and of course that had been the leader himself. Optimus was the one to approach her berthroom, and for some reason she allowed him to come in.
"There's something you're not saying, Y/N. There is something between you and Soundwave isn't there?" The femme's optics remained focused on the ground, could she tell him? Would the team still trust her if they knew the truth? Soundwave was a Decepticon and she an Autobot, and if they were what they truly were to one another how was it possible that they choice different sides in this war. She knew she could trust the Prime, that if she did tell him and she asked him not to tell the others she knew he would listen.
"We're sparkmates." Her voice was quiet, almost inaudible as she glanced up at her leader. Obviously not even Optimus Prime was expecting an answer like that, "We met in the academy, but when the war started I wasn't even on Cybertron at the time. Soundwave thought I had died at the time because we had lost contact and everyone thought the worst about my team. We returned to a broken planet and I came back to a broken Mech. I know what you're probably thinking, and I understand if you don't trust me but you have to understand that I can't hurt him." Tears began to overflow in her optics, and she was startled by the Prime pulling her into a hug. She had seen humans do it before, it was something they did to comfort their kind. He held her like a father consoling their child, and the feeling of love only made her spark ache more. When had things gone so wrong?
"I cannot begin to say that I understand the pain in your spark, but know that I will not trust you any less. You are a good warrior Y/N. I know this sacrifice is something that no mech or femme should ever have to make, and for that I can only say sorry."
