Explanation

DAHYUN'S POV

I was too scared to even speak, too afraid to hear the answer. "Well I told him about you and um," Chaeyoung hesitated yet again. I started getting impatient. I get that she was scared but how am I supposed to understand her in the situation if I don't even know what was going on? "Chaeyoung, please just finish your sentence!" I snapped. I don't do this often, this was probably my first time being so serious in front of the members since our trainee days. I made the wrong move. Chaeyoung got even more afraid. "She told Lewis about you and Sana," Mina said. This time I could hear her clearly. You could tell she was trying her best to raise her voice so she wouldn't have to repeat it. She probably just couldn't stand seeing Chaeyoung like this. They had a thing after all, it's not like no one knew. I stared at Chaeyoung in disbelief. "I'm really sorry Dahyun," Chaeyoung whispered as her voice cracked, about to break down in tears. I looked over to Sana, not knowing what to do. I looked back at all the members giving me a weird stare. Of course, because Chaeyoung was younger it was only normal we doted on her more. This was too mean. I started regretting it, some of their impressions of me have probably changed. I was about to walk into my room, I couldn't take this anymore. I slowly took a step forward but I felt a cold hand grabbing mine, pulling me back. I looked to the right and of course, Sana. It was just what I needed. I squeezed her hand tightly. It was like som sort of telepathy. "It'll be alright Dahyun, I'm here for you, we can solve this together," I could hear her in my head, just by the squeeze of a hand. I held her hand tightly. "It's alright Chaeyoung, we can fix this," Sana said. I fell in love with her all over again. How can someone be so nice and considerate? I knew deep down inside she was afraid, scared and she could probably burst in tears any moment. I could see it through her eyes as she said that sentence. "Sorry Chaeyoung," I said rubbing my head awkwardly. I don't usually do things like this so I don't apologise often, if I did it's usually probably one of the most awkward things ever. Like right now.

"I don't think Lewis is that bad, he likes you dubu, he won't do this to you," Momo said and pat my shoulder. I caught Sana glaring at her. "At a time like this Sana? Really?" I said through my eyes. I could tell she understood and gave me those sad puppy dog eyes. Momo just stared at us and giggled. "I caused this, I'll go talk to him," Chaeyoung bravely said. Everyone looked up shocked, we all knew Chaeyoung hated Lewis because during trainee days, he would always tease her. "You don't have to, we know how much you hate him," Jeongyeon said and chuckled. She probably found Chaeyoung cute acting all brave and fierce. "How did it even get to you telling him about this anyway?" I asked. I'm not sure if I seemed too rude, I didn't mean to sound that way. I could tell she was afraid. Her "I'll go talk to Lewis" confidence completely shrank she she went back to her soft voice, almost a whisper. "Well, he actually called me asking where you were because he knew we were good friends," she started explaining, then stopped. I was getting quite annoyed with her hesitation. Sana squeezed my hand again. I turned around and saw her looking at my eyes, it looked like she had been staring into it for awhile. "I said you were with Sana and he jokingly asked if you guys were together," Chaeyoung continued. The other members didn't seem amused, I could tell she told them beforehand, she was just reciting this for me and Sana. "And you know how I can't lie, so I said yes," She went on about how he continued joking about it and slowly realised Chaeyoung was being serious. "Don't worry Dahyun, Lewis isnt the kind that would expose you all," Tzuyu said trying to comfort us both. "He doesn't have proof anyway," Nayeon added. I could tell Nayeon wasn't very fond of Lewis either. Lewis and I were somewhat close. I can't imagine him exposing us, it just isn't like him. "But we should just be safe, guys can completely change when they realise their crush was taken all along," Jeongyeon shrugged as she leaned in to Whisper to us. "We just have to make sure our manager doesn't find out," as if there were mics and CCTVs all over our dorm. We all nodded in agreement and started sorting things out, coming up with ideas.
