A Beautiful and Twisted Mind (Loki Fanfiction)

Chapter 7

A/N: Guess what's back?! Loki and Alia scenes. They're both out of their cells now and the real fun begins. This is a bit of a short chapter so I double updated. Double the Alia and Loki amusement. 

 I woke up from a dreamless sleep. Weird, I thought. I stretched my arms and yawned. Today was the day I’d go free Loki. After our last conversation I was curious to see how this would go. Part of me just wanted to stay under these covers forever. The other was ready to go get Loki. I let that half take my feet to my wardrobe. I found a silky golden dress and pulled it out. I slid it on and braided my hair to the side. I sighed when I saw my reflection. “I look like a true Asgardian” I said to myself. It meant you’re beautiful.

Loki had a heart somewhere and I was going to find it the way I had when I hugged him. I walked out of my room and went to find Odin. He was standing in the throne room talking to guards. Thankfully Herco wasn’t around. “Odin, how am I to let Loki out?” I asked him. He turned to see me. “There will be a panel beside his cell. You will fetch him whenever you’re ready. Bring him to me so I may speak with him. Then he will be in your hands.” I bowed and left to get Loki. Odin called after me, “I hope you know what you’re getting into.” That seems to be the only thing people can say to me.

 Loki’s cell came into view. I could see him reading, leaning against the wall. I stopped in my tracks. He seemed distressed. Maybe this was a bad idea. I approached slowly and Loki’s eyes widened. “Hello Alia. Come to gloat about your royal treatment?” He wouldn’t look me in the eye. “No. Loki, I’m here to let you out.” Loki laughed bitterly and loudly. “You’re joking right? You think because you get out of the cell that you can get me out? Or is that it? Odin trusts you so much now that you can free me? Spare your pity Alia. I’d rather rot.” Loki’s voice was venomous.

“I had to beg Odin for this and only with Frigga’s help did he agree. This has nothing to do with pity. It’s me asking for your help” I said.

“Oh so you want me to help you?” he asked.

“Yes.”

“And why would I help you?”

“Because you understand what it’s like to hear the truth and not want it”

That ignited something in him. He was on his feet. “Alia… Just get Frigga to help you.” The change in his voice was obvious. “She doesn’t understand like you do. Please Loki. I’m giving you a chance at freedom. All you have to do is help me” I pleaded. “Pleading looks good on you Asgardian. Try kneeling” he said with a smirk. “Not today” I whispered.

Loki raised an eyebrow and smiled devilishly. My face flushed. “I…” But Loki was laughing. “What if I don’t want to?” he asked. I sighed. “Then you can stay in here. It was worth a shot…” I went to turn away and he said my name.

“Let me out” he said.

I let down his cell wall and he walked in front of me. “Lead the way Lady Winter” he said sarcastically. I punched him in the arm and we began walking. Loki stopped for a moment and I turned around. A weird look clouded his eyes. I saw a glimmer of something in his hand. Panic seized me. He made a move towards me and I threw him against the wall. A dagger clambered to the ground. I stared at it in horror. “Are you fucking kidding me?!” I screamed. Loki looked at me with huge eyes. “I knew this was a bad idea!” I screamed. Loki went to talk but I threw my hand at his face. “Ah” he grimaced as his head turned.

“You want to run? Fine! Go!” I turned and shot out of the dungeons. Let him get caught. I’ll lie and say he tricked me. That was believable for sure. I made it to my chambers and slammed the door. I collapsed on the bed and screamed into my pillow. I turned over and screamed again. Loki was standing in my room. “You could have let me explain” he said.

“Explain why you were you going to stab me?” I asked, my voice rising. “I think you should know that Herco was hiding and planning to do just that. I pulled my dagger out to stab him. But when you threw me into a wall, you threw him off guard. You’re lucky to have escaped and I’m lucky I was able to use enough magic to get here.” He explained. I felt sick. Damn it, Alia. “You were trying to protect me? HERCO WAS GOING TO STAB ME?!” I was becoming frantic. Loki grabbed my shoulders. “Panicking will do nothing you ignorant child.” He said. I wiggled my shoulders so his hands fell off. “Come on” I said. Loki’s eyebrows knitted together. “Where are we going?” he asked. “To see Odin. I was supposed to bring you to him and we’ll have to tell him what happened.” Loki stiffened and tightened his jaw. He stood still for a moment and finally followed me.

We walked in and it was clear Odin was displeased with how long I had taken. But he seemed angry over something greater. That’s when I noticed Herco standing by him. “You let Loki out and left him?!” Odin screamed. Loki cleared his throat. “I am right here. She clearly didn’t leave me” he said. Odin slammed his staff into the ground. “Herco would not lie to me” Odin said. I scoffed.

“Yes well, maybe you ask him who exactly he was planning to stab in the dungeon. Me or Alia?” Loki had taken us all by surprise. Herco averted his gaze. I shifted uncomfortably on my feet. Odin whirled around to look at Herco. “Were you going to attack my son or the girl?” he asked. Herco seemed shocked for a moment but then grinned. “You will regret what you’ve started Alia Winter” he said. In the blink of an eye, Herco was gone. Odin gasped. I looked to Loki and he was gaping.

“Where did he go? What did he mean by that?” I asked. Loki did something out of character and grabbed my hand. He pulled me close. “Go to your room. Wait there. I…”

“No. You and her go to the counsel room. I’m getting Thor and The Warriors. We’ve been infiltrated and it seems Lady Alia is in danger” Odin instructed. Loki shook his head and dragged me out of the throne room. “Am I in danger?” I asked as Loki darted around the castle. “Herco was going to stab you. Then he threatened you and disappeared the way you can. Alia, you are very much in danger”
