I stood next to Nancy as Jonathan dug through the glove box of our father's car. Our father had come to the funeral because he wanted to "support the family when they needed it the most". I didn't buy it. I could tell that he wanted something else.

"Are you sure we should be doing this?" I asked as Jonathan pulled a gun out and closed the compartment.

"We have to do something before that monster kills anyone else. We need to do this."

As Nancy, Jonathan, and I walked out of the supply shop with a box of things to fight the monster, people were gawking at us. By "us", I mean Nancy. They were looking at her in disgust. I started running in the direction that people were coming from.

I arrived at the movie theater and what everyone else was seeing. Someone wrote "Nancy the Slut Wheeler" with spray paint. I put a hand over my mouth. I was getting angry. I didn't understand why. Was it because she was my friend? No. She was just an acquaintance. I didn't know. I heard laughing coming from the alley. I recognized it anywhere. Steve Harrington, Nancy's boyfriend, and his friend.

I stormed into the alley, eyes blazing. His friend was spray painting a door with "Jonathan Byers is a Perv." Shit was getting personal. "You little piece of shit!"

"Who are you," Steve's friend asked.

"A pissed sister. What the Hell are you doing?"

"Just exposing these two for what they really are. Worthless pieces of shit."

I got up in his face. "Don't ever talk about my brother like that again, and never disrespect Nancy Wheller. Especially since my twin just died. I don't care what he did, but he doesn't deserve any of this."

"Whatcha gonna do about it? You're probably just as weak as your twin."

Without thinking, my hand shot up to his throat. My nails were digging into his skin. "My brother was not weak. Neither am I. What do you want to bet that I can pick you up by the throat with one hand just like I can Troy?"

"Steve, help me," he sputtered.

"It's just a little girl," Steve replied cockily. "Help yourself."

Steve's friend grabbed my arm and tried to pull it off, but I barely budged. "Don't you know that girls are strong when they're angry, especially when their anger is worse because of grief? I could kill you right here, right now." I could feel blood on my fingers. "You're just like Troy. Picking on the innocent. I'm done with it." I reached into my back pocket, grasping my pocket knife.

"Y/N, don't hurt him," Jonathan called out. I didn't realize he and Nancy had followed me. "Please."

Warm tears flowed down as I looked at him and shook my head. "I can't do this anymore, Jonathan. I can't keep acting like everyone respects us when they don't."

"Just calm down. I know that you've been through a lot, but just calm down. What would Will want?"

"He wouldn't want this."

"More importantly, what would Mike want?"

I sighed and looked down at the ground in realization of why I was so pissed about Nancy. I was in love with Mike. "He wouldn't want this either."

"That's right. He would want you to be calm, to not hurt anyone, including yourself." I pulled my hand out of my pocket without the knife and dropped to the ground. The guy ran over to Steve as Jonathan ran over to me. "It's okay. Sh..."

"Damn, Steve," the guy said. "Maybe if you fucked her instead, she wouldn't be so protective."

"Maybe," Steve replied. I could see anger in Jonathan's eyes now. "Maybe she would even help us then instead of helping them. I mean, she is hot." Nobody talks about me like that in front of Jonathan. Before I could stop him, Jonathan ran at Steve and tackled him.

"Never talk about my sister like that again!" He punched Steve. I just sat there crying while Nancy was screaming at them to stop. Then a police car came around the corner. I stayed where I was. Steve's friend ran away. An officer tried pulling Jonathan off of Steve, but Jonathan shoved the officer.

Acting quickly, I got up and went over to Jonathan. I started pulling him off because I knew he wasn't going to push me away. "Ca-lm d-down." I slowly peeled him off of Steve.

Nancy, Jonathan, and I were at the police station and had been for a while. Nancy got Jonathan some ice and I laid my head in his lap as he stroked my hair. I told him that he didn't have to stroke my hair since he was in handcuffs, but he didn't stop. It was nice. The only problem was how I wished it was Mike instead. I still hadn't talked to him.

I jumped when the door to the station opened and my mom walked in with Hopper.

"Why is my son in hand cuffs," my mom yelled.

"Ma'am, this boy assaulted an officer-"

"Uncuff him," Hopper inturrupted. "Now." I felt Jonathan shift under me as he lifted his hands so he could be uncuffed. His hands moved back to stroking my hair afterward.

"You might want to see this though, Chief." He put the box of stuff that we'd bought onto the desk in front of us. "We found this in the trunk."

"What are you doing with this stuff?"

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you," Jonathan replied coldly. I could hear the remaining anger toward Steve and his friend in Jonathan's voice. It was clear that Nancy could too, she had been sitting next to us and held my hand. Although Jonathan sounded angry still, he was gentle toward mom, Hopper, Nancy, and I.

Eleven, Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Jonathan, mom, Hopper, Nancy, and I sat at the kitchen table in our house to make a game plan to see if Will was really alive. The body that was found was a fake. A doll, Hopper told us. I was so confused once again by what the boys had told us. Apparently there was an alternate universe called the "upside down" and the monster the Jonathan, Nancy, and I were looking for took him there. Also, as far as I could understand, Eleven could contact people in the upside down. If Will was alive, she could contact him.

"So, how will we do it," I asked. "This thing has to be pretty dangerous, so how will we go into the upside down and find Will?"

"We just need to find out where he is, then Joyce and I will find him and bring him back." Hopper sounded confident with his plan.

"So you expect me to wait here for you guys to come back? You can't be serious."

"We are dead serious. It's too dangerous for you."

"I want to go find him. You have no idea what I'm capable of."

"You have nothing to protect yourself with."

"Yes I do." I pulled out my knife and slammed it down on the table.

"Where did you get that," my mom asked.

"Lonnie gave it to me. He said that I 'needed to protect myself from boys.' I don't know if this monster is a boy, but I will protect myself from it-him-her. Never mind that, the point is that I want to go and help you guys find him."

"No. That's the last of this conversation, Y/N. You are not going to find Will with us."

"Whatever."

I sat in the bleachers next to Jonathan and Nancy. I laid my head on Jonathan's shoulder while he held me close and stroked my hair. I was so happy that the experiment worked. We went to the school, filled a pool with water, added salt, then Eleven laid down in it with a blind fold on. She found him. She found Will. I looked at Jonathan with a smile.

"We're going to be together again, all of us," I whispered.

"I know. Just remember that even though Will will be back, doesn't mean that you can start keeping secrets again."

"I know."

He leaned down and kissed my forehead before standing up. "Nancy and I have to go do something. We'll be back."

"Alright."
