I wrapped the gauze around my forearm, blood and tears soaking through each layer. I thought about the last time that I cut.

*Flashback*

I sat on my bed and watched as Will's hands circled my forearm, the white gauze getting soaked for the forth time that month.

"Y/N/N, why did you do it this time," Will asked.

"I... uh..."

"Y/N..."

I sighed. "I got rejected... and he insulted me..."

"What did he say?"

"That I was fat, ugly, stupid. That I would die sad and alone."

"Just remember that there are plenty of fish on the sea. I'm sure that any guy who says no to a girl like that isn't worth whining over." He looked me in the eyes and put a hand on my cheek. "There are nicer guys out there. You aren't fat, ugly, or stupid, and you won't die sad or alone. If you die sad and alone, we will do it together."

"Really?"

"Really. I love you."

"I love you too."

*End Flashback*

I wiped the tears from my eyes and pulled down my sleeve. That could never happen again, I had to accept that he was gone. Forever. I felt so weak for letting Troy beat on me. I shouldn't have let him do that. I shouldn't have yelled at Mike like that either. It wasn't his fault that we found Will like that. He was just trying to give me hope, right?

I picked up the pair of scissors that we're covered in blood and wiped them off. Will always thought that I should cut my hair, I thought to myself. I lifted the blade up to my h/c hair and cut a section off. I continued to do this until my hair was the length of a boy's.

I ran a hand through my hair, surprised by what I had done. It probably wasn't the best idea, but I wanted to do it. I quickly cleaned up the scraps of hair and then laid my head into my pillow, slowly drifting asleep.

I woke up well before anyone else. I hadn't realized that I had fallen asleep in my hoodie and pants until I'd gone to the bathroom. Afterwards, I got changed into a different pair of pants, but kept the hoodie.

After about 15 minutes of debating, I wrote a note to my mom saying that I went to school early. I didn't feel like dealing with my family.

I was one of the first to arrive at the school, but the doors were locked. I just sat in front of the cold metal doors, hitting the back of my head against it repeatedly. I was getting stared at by the students who had arrived. I understood why. My hoodie was torn up, I had my hood up, I had a black eye, a busted lip, and bruises all over my face.
