After pulling away from our kiss, the song ended. A lot of people let go of each other, but Dustin and I stayed where we were. He had that adorable grin on his face, the one that you can't help but return.
I leaned in and gave him a gentle peck on the lips. "Thank you, Dustin."
"No problem." He pushed some hair out of my face. "Um, would you... well... Y/N, will you be my..."
"Girlfriend?" I giggled. He nodded. "Yes. I would love to, Dustin."
He grabbed my hand. "Wanna go sit down?"
"Sure." I looked over at Jonathan who had been taking pictures. He was looking at me, smiling. I turned back to Dustin, walking with him over to the table. The rest of the party was already sitting there, looking surprised. "What are you guys looking at?"
"How much did you guys see?" Dustin added.
"Just about everything." Will answered. "Are you guys dating now?"
"Yes, Will. We're dating now."
Ten Months Later
It had been two months since the party had begun to attend Hawkins High School as Freshmen. Things were great. Dustin and I had been together until August, but decided that we would be better as just friends. Everything was good though.
"So, do you like any one new yet," Will asked as we rode our bikes to school.
"Nope. Do you?"
"I actually kinda like Jane."
"You do realize that her and Mike are still doing the on again off again thing still, right?"
"I know, I just like her. I'm not going to ask her out. Just like you won't ask Mike out."
"That's different. I won't do it because he already broke my heart. I'm not risking that again."
