Lukas and I showered and got dressed for dinner. I pulled on a neat grey cardigan over a white button-down dress shirt and my only pair of unripped skinny jeans. I dried my hair and left the tight curls to their own devices. I put my glasses on, not wanting to bother with contacts. I slipped on a pair of flats and went to wait for Lukas in the hall.

I was leaning against the wall waiting for him to come out when a blonde girl came out into the hall. She was wearing a very lowcut blouse with flared black pants. Her bright blue eyes were outlined with eyeliner and mascara. She was quite pretty, I'll give her that.

"Who the hell are you?" She sneered. I take it back. She was only pretty on the outside.

"Lourdes Knightly, the one keeping tabs on Lukas. You must be Lucy, right?" I asked, extending my hand out to her. She raised an eyebrow in disgust at me. I took my hand back and held back an eye-roll.

"Whatever," She scoffed, turning to walk down the corridor. "Just stay out of my way." She sashayed away. I rolled my eyes back into my head and continued to wait.

"What the hell is taking him so long?" I sighed, reaching up to knock. It was at that moment he decided to open the door. I knocked my fist into his chest before I could stop myself. He looked at me confused.

Lukas was dressed in a blue jean button-down with jeans and brown dress shoes. His hair was tousled in an 'I-just-got-out-of-bed' look. His blue eyes were looking down at me with an amused look.

"Take a picture, it'll last longer." He poked my nose.

"I was just looking for the easiest spot to take you out if need be." I rubbed my nose. "Which would be like this." I took an elbow to his side, a leg to the back of his knees, and a push on his head. He buckled and fell to the ground. I miserably failed to suppress a laugh. He glared up at me. I held a hand out to him to pull him up. Instead, he pulled me to the floor with him. "Hey!"

"You started it," He laughed.

"What are you, five?" I asked, standing up and brushing myself off. He shrugged, copying my actions. "You're a downright pain in my ass."

"I'm a pain for your ass," he teased, smacking me. I jumped forward with a squeak, much to his satisfaction.

"Alright, douchebag. Enough sexual harassment from you, we're gonna be late."

I dragged him down the hall towards the dining rooms. We stepped into one and joined the rest of the family. I was sat between Lukas and Hugo. Lovely. Lucy was on the other side of Lukas, glaring at me while pretending to be interested in her salad fork. It took me a mere moment to realize everyone was sat in age order. Weird.

"How did Lukas end up staying with someone as pretty as you?" Hugo murmured to me. "I should have gotten kicked out instead." I crinkled my eyebrows together. Was he really flirting with me? "We could have had a lot of fun and gotten into a lot of trouble."

"If by fun, you mean me going to class and ignoring the hell out of you when I was home, then sure," I retorted.

"Oh, feisty girl. I like it." He winked at me. I rolled my eyes and did my best to ignore him. He refused to take a hint. "So, what exotic place are you from, huh?"

"Manhattan." I looked at him in disgust. "I lived in London half my life. That's how your parents know me. I'm not from an exotic country."

"Then how did your hair get like that?" He asked. "And your skin? You're just so gorgeous, I want to know where I can meet more girls like you if you're not gonna fall for me."
