It was my last day in the hospital, thank god. Lukas hadn't been home once in the two weeks I'd been in, and there were very few times he wasn't by my side. Bennett had flown back to New York a few days ago because classes were resuming. Luann had gone back to New York for rehearsal as well. In the meantime, I was stranded in London with no phone, missing days of my job and my classes.

Lukas and I were walking about the hospital together at the request of my doctor. Apparently, I needed to avoid blood clotting. Great. I groaned in annoyance as a stabbing pain struck my side. Unfortunately, that was normal.

"This is so irritating," I complained. "I could be back home making money and learning stuff but no, I'm stuck in recovery because Kathrin decided to be a bitch." Lukas laughed quietly under his breath. "There is nothing funny about this! I'm losing money and my grades are probably dropping by the second. Not to mention my phone was the only casualty in the fire so no one knows where I am."

"Actually, you made international news as a hero," Lukas told me. "Half the world knows you're in recovery in the hospital at the moment. You should be fine." I rolled my eyes.

"Great." The last thing I wanted was attention. I sighed and made my way back to my room. "Hey, before I'm discharged, do you wanna go get me some new clothes? These are horrible and I refuse to be seen in them." I tugged at my hospital robes.

"Sure," Lukas nodded. "It's the least I can do."

"Oh, hell no," I scowled. "I refuse the idea of anyone owing me anything because I did something stupidly heroic on instinct. Well, besides your parents compensating me for the hospital time and the work and class I'm missing. Only because your father is a right asshole." Lukas laughed.

"Alright, no mentioning the incident. Got it. I'll go get you some clothes." He gave me a short hug and left the room. I flopped down on the bed, trying to alleviate the pain in my side. I ended up in the fetal position.

Lukas came back around 45 minutes later, freshly showered with a bag of things for me. A doctor came in and said I was good to go once I spoke to the front desk. He handed me some pill bottles in a bag and left. I hurriedly changed as fast as I could without hurting myself and left the room.

Lukas signed me out at the front desk, and I received instructions on hand therapy for both in London and when I got back to New York. I left the hospital as quickly as I could, annoyed with the place after two weeks.

There was snow everywhere. It was coming up on Christmas in a few days, and London was certainly ready for it. I loved Christmas. I enjoyed sharing it with the people I cared about. However, it being Christmas, I was presently missing my semester final exams. I let out an annoyed groan before stomping to Lukas's car.

"What's got your panties in a twist?" He asked.

"I've missed semester exams," I sighed. "I'll probably have to redo the semester now. Which means more time and money spent on school." I sat back in the passenger's seat and wallowed. Lukas tapped my chin.

"Chin up, I'm sure you'll figure something out," He smiled. I rolled my eyes and turned to the window. The drive home was silent. I assumed Lukas had taken the hint that I didn't wanna talk to anyone. We parked in the garage and I stalked up to the front door of the mansion.

Lukas opened the door and I hurried right up to the bedrooms. I gathered my things from Lukas's room and swept into the guest room. I set my case down and grabbed joggers and a baggy hoodie of Bennett's before going to shower.
