I was looking around for Lourdes through the house. After she stormed off inside, she seemingly disappeared. I walked through the house, I was texting Bennett. I was giving him updates on Lourdes. We'd been speaking a lot, and he was less of a twat than I had originally thought.
I stopped in at the kitchen to eat something because I was starving. I hadn't been to a single meal at home in... who knows how long and I planned to keep it that way. I pulled down a bowl, spoon, and cereal so I could make myself an incredibly late breakfast.
As I ate, I heard two sets of footsteps go into my father's office. I assumed it was Lourdes, so I cleaned up my things to go and join the two of them. I walked over to my father's office and raised my hand to knock when I heard loud arguing.
"You know exactly what I'm asking for, Miss Knightly," My father said.
"That Lukas is a horribly behaved young man? He doesn't listen and makes stupidly reckless decisions constantly." I set my jaw as I listened to Lourdes. I moved to the wall to listen as I leaned against it. "I'm incredibly put out by watching him and I'm completely done. Good day, Mr. Emrys." I heard her get out of her seat and set my jaw.
"Completely done, huh?" I asked as she stormed out of the room. She whipped around in surprise, her eyes widening as she saw me. "Well, I suppose I'll leave you alone to your own devices, then." I turned and began to hurry to my bedroom. I was trying to control my anger and hurt.
"Lukas, wait!" Lourdes was suddenly behind me with a hand on my arm. I jerked my arm away."
"I don't wanna hear it. Just... leave me alone, okay?" I slammed my bedroom door behind me and slid down against it.
I couldn't fucking believe it. I heard her footsteps move away before her door shut. I pulled my knees to my chest. Everything she said cut deep. I brushed at my stinging eyes before locking both doors. Knowing Lourdes, she'd try to make it better. But every time she tried that, she'd make it worse instead. Twenty minutes later, she came knocking at the door from the bathroom.
"Lukas, please," Her voice cracked as she spoke through the door. "Hear me out, okay? That wasn't what you thought it was, I promise!" I snorted and went to turn my music on. I heard her pleas get louder, but I responded with louder music. Eventually, she gave up. I was left alone with loud music and even louder thoughts.
I couldn't take thinking anymore. I had to do something. I wrapped my hands tightly and began to beat the hell out of my punching bag. I couldn't get a grip on my emotions. So many were running through my mind, from sadness to anger, guilt to hatred. So, I found an outlet. A really effective one at that.
Eventually, dinner rolled around. I went down because I knew I'd get heat if I didn't. Lourdes didn't bother to show. I couldn't tell if I was happy or disappointed. Either way, it was uncomfortable without her. I left immediately after I had finished eating, not bothering to even speak to anyone. I went back and shut myself in my room.
I was lying in bed, willing sleep to come, when there was a knock at the door.
"Lukas? It's Bradly. Can I talk to you for a minute?" I pulled myself out of bed and went to unlock the door. He was standing there with a worried look, his eyebrows furrowed and his bottom lip between his teeth. He had a piece of paper in his grasp.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"Did you have anything to do with this?" He asked, handing me the paper. I read it over.
