"Hey, Lourdes?" Sawyer popped his head into my room. "Got a second?" I closed my laptop, on which I was looking for a dress to wear. I know, I know. I'm the worst.
"Yeah, what's up?" I set the laptop aside and he sat beside me on the sofa. "Everything okay?"
"Yeah, except neither Toby nor I have anything to wear, and we haven't picked the groom's party clothing scheme yet." He rested his elbows on his knees, looking at me expectantly.
"Okay, go get him and call your parties, we're doing this," I said, glad to have an excuse to leave and go shopping. As soon as the rest of the guys got there, we piled into one of the limousines driven by a chauffeur. We drove around London to find a suitable shop.
"Oh, how about there!" Toby instructed the driver. We pulled to a stop at a quaint boutique that looked very high standard. Toby, Sawyer, and eleven other guys spilled out after me. We walked into the shop and started to look around.
"Shouldn't there be one more person in one of the parties?" I asked. "To make it even?" Sawyer looked at me with a goofy smile.
"That spot is for you, love," He said. "You're my best man, yeah? Well, best woman I suppose." I stood shocked for a moment before flinging my arms around him.
"Really?" I exclaimed in excitement. "You mean it?"
"Of course! Now, let's get us some new clothes, yeah?"
The guys eventually decided on navy blue suits with silver accents. The ties were in a rainbow color scheme, which was bloody adorable. I completely took over fitting for the entire group, including accessories like belts, shoes, and pocket squares. Toby's suit coat was navy with silver lapels, and Sawyers had silver swirls coating the fabric. I nodded in satisfaction as I altered the last suit of one of Toby's friends. After hearing who we were, I was given an entire room in the back to perform my alterations.
"Perfect," I nodded, stepping back and looking over my handiwork. The boys looked smashingly handsome. Sawyer shot me a grin, adjusting his glasses on his nose.
"What about you?" He asked. "You haven't found anything to wear yet."
"Well, would you like me in a dress or a pantsuit?" I asked, going back out to the racks.
"As hot as you'd look in a pantsuit, I'm gay. And I want the only woman in the groomsmen to stand the hell out, yeah?" He said, steering me towards the blue side of the dresses.
I grabbed a few options I thought would look nice on me and took to the dressing room. The first dress was a navy, halter sort of thing that hung over me. I'd lost a lot of weight since the accident so it didn't fit me as well as I'd hoped. The second dress was a long, maxi-sort with a sleeveless sweetheart neckline and a slit down the skirt. The feel of the material was a little off, so it was also a no.
The last dress was a tight, curve-hugging dress with a v-neck and lacy decals, ending shortly at my midthigh. It accentuated the length of my legs, my skin tone, and my slowly re-emerging curves. It was spaghetti strapped so I wouldn't have to worry about it falling down. In short, it was perfect.
I stepped out of the dressing room with a soft smile on my face. One of the boys wolf-whistled at me, and I laughed. I gave a turn, bouncing on the balls of my feet.
"That's the one," Toby nodded as Sawyer let out a low whistle. I nodded. Sawyer brought me a box of silver, pointed toe heels with an ankle strap for me to try on. They fit perfectly and brought me up a solid four inches.
"Perfect," Sawyer nodded in approval. I smiled and curtsied. He laughed, pulling me in for a hug. "Come on, the wedding's tomorrow, and you, my dear, have a cake to bake."
