Namjoon paced anxiously by the rear french doors to the Byun residence, exchanging nervous glances with Jimin. Abruptly, the tense silence was shattered by the crack of a gunshot from somewhere in the house. Cursing under his breath, the elder keyed his earpiece, "Yo, Jungkook, what was that? Everything ok?"

Waiting a minute, his lips thinned as all he heard was silence. "Jungkook, what's going on up there?" Giving it two more minutes as he chewed his lip in indecision, he turned to head inside before feeling Jimin grab his arm.

"He said we had to stay here! You know he'll be pissed if we deviate from our orders."

Shaking the pink-hair's hand from his elbow, the taller gives an impatient sigh, "And if he's been shot? I'd rather he be pissed and alive than sit here while he's hurt."

Not waiting for the younger, he pulled his gun from his waist, creeping carefully through the darkened rooms. Their team had already cleared the lower floor of all the guards, and had pulled back to guard the perimeter. But Jungkook had insisted on going upstairs to retrieve Baekhyun alone. "That stubborn pabo," the older muttered under his breath.

Cautiously, he crept up the stairs, confirming as he looked around the corner at the top that Jungkook had already taken out the guard upstairs. Seeing that one door at the end of the hall was open, Namjoon kept his gun drawn and ready as he approached the room. It took a moment for his eyes to register the scene in the room, but when he did he let out a relieved sigh. Jungkook was crouching on the floor, holding an unconscious figure in his arms. "Kook! You scared the crap outta me! I heard a gun and you didn't answer when I called."

The younger's head shot up, his eyes wide with panic. "Hyung! I need your help. I-I hurt him. He's bleeding. Please, help me!"

The older frowned seeing the discarded mask on the floor near his feet. "Is that V? What about Baekhyun? And why the hell would you want to help the crazy assassin who would kill you in a heartbeat??"

The darker boy looked on the verge of losing it, his voice desperate, "Hyung, please! He-he's..."

Namjoon moved closer, getting a better look at the bleeding man. As he saw the silver haired man's features, his own eyes widened in shock, his shocked gasp loud in the room. "Is...is that...Taehyung?"

Jungkook nodded quickly, "I didn't know it was him. I...I hurt him hyung!"

Swallowing, the older took a deep breath. Jungkook already looked like he was barely holding it together, they couldn't afford to both panic. They could figure things out once they were all safe. "Okay, take your shirt off, I'm gonna tie it around his shoulder to slow the bleeding so we can get him out of here."

The younger quickly did as instructed, keeping his worried eyes on the injured boy. Once they'd successfully tied the make-shift bandage around Taehyung's shoulder, the ravenette carefully lifted him into his arms bridal style.

As they made to leave, Namjoon's voice got his attention, "Should we bring anything of his?"

The younger looked around the room, his eyes landing on a stuffed lion that had fallen from the bed. Swallowing, he felt his heart lurch at the familiar plushie. His voice was choked when he answered, "Grab the lion."

As they quickly ran from the house, Namjoon saw Jimin still waiting by the exit, his eyes wide in confusion as Jungkook hurried past him carrying a limp figure. "Tell everyone to get back to the vans. We're headed back to the compound."

Knowing it wasn't the time to ask questions, the smaller gave the order to their men, following behind his taller friends. As they climbed into the back of the van, Jimin's eyes met Hoseok's, each silently assuring the other they were fine. Turning to face Jungkook as the van began moving, the pink-haired man took note of how carefully the leader held the injured boy, before finally asking, "Jungkook, what's going on? Where's Baekhyun?"

The raven-haired leader didn't remove his eyes from the precious boy he carried. He was aware that Jin, Jimin, and Hoseok all wanted answers, but he was still struggling to remain rational. He'd found Tae. His beloved was finally in his arms. But...Tae, his sweet Tae, was also V, Baekhyun's pet assassin? And he hadn't seemed to know Jungkook at all!

The deeper voice of Namjoon cut into the silence. "It's Taehyung. He found Taehyung."

Shock filled the space in the van. Jin stared back and forth between the unconscious figure in Jungkook's arms, his face hidden against the skin of the leader's bare chest, and the pale face of his boyfriend. "Joonie?"

The other nodded, his face grim, "That's Taehyung. He's also V. Kook didn't know his identity and accidentally hurt him."

As Jin scooted forward to get a better look at the silver haired boy, he heard Jimin's shocked voice, "Wait, Tae was V? Are you freaking crazy?? Tae could never hurt a fly, let alone do all the sh!t V's done!"

Finally seeing the slack face of the injured younger, a sob escaped Jin's lips. "Oh God, it is Tae!" He wanted badly to hold the boy they'd all grieved for so long, but one look at Jungkook said that the leader would hurt anyone who tried to take his love from his arms.

Unable to bear it, Jimin lurched towards the two, Hoseok's arms around his shoulders. Seeing the face he'd missed for so long, the pink-haired boy struggled to breathe past the knot in his throat. "But, how could Tae...he couldn't-"

His voice hoarse, Jungkook cut him off, speaking for the first time since entering the van. "It doesn't matter. He's here with us. I don't care what he's done, so long as he's alive. We can sort everything else out later. We need to treat his injuries first."

Looking up at Jin's tear-filled eyes, he swallowed before quietly adding, "I don't think he remembers us."

The group all exchanged shocked and pained looks. Sure, the doctor had said his memory had probably been damaged, but it was still a blow to hear their precious Taehyung may not have any idea who they were.

Clearing his throat, Namjoon rested his hand on Jin's back, the weight of his warm hand comforting the eldest, "We can worry about that later. The important thing is we found him, and he's alive."

As they sped towards home, the shocked and worried group all watched the unconscious youngest, unanswered questions swirling. They all anxiously wondered what would happen once the injured boy awoke.
