Jungkook's hand fisted against the wood of his desk as he glared at the piece of paper in his hand. He'd come home earlier and immediately run to check on V, and instead had been floored to find a letter lying on the empty bed. There had been no sign of the silver haired assassin anywhere. Even his stuffed lion was gone. Reading the letter for the hundredth time, he gritted his teeth in frustration.

'Jungkook,

It's time for Suga and I to go back home where we belong. With Baekhyung and Chanyeol away, someone else has to step into my hyung's place and run things. Since he doesn't have any kids yet, and I'm his little brother, that apparently leaves me as his heir for now. He's done so much for me, I know there's no way I could ever repay him, but I have to try. I hope you understand why I have to do this. Don't worry about me, I'll be fine now that everyone responsible for trying to kill me has been eliminated. And I'll still have Suga with me. Besides, I'm still V, I can handle threats easily enough. So make sure that the others don't worry about me either.

Thank you for everything,
~V

Cursing, the ravenette threw his now-empty glass of whiskey across the room, ignoring the sound of glass shattering as it strikes the wall. 'Dammit V, did nothing we did mean anything to you? How could you leave me again so easily?' Frustrated fingers jab through his ink-black hair, his eyes squeezing shut.

The mafia leader is aware of the concerned eyes of his hyungs on him. Namjoon is sitting across the desk, face solemn, as Jin hugs a softly crying Jimin. Hoseok hasn't stopped pacing in front of the door, his tense posture screaming that the normally easy-going and cheerful man is pissed. The redhead grits out, "Why exactly are we still sitting here? We can easily track V's location and bring them back."

Jungkook's jaw is tense as he takes a slow breath, his voice hard, "Finding them isn't an issue. But we are not going to rush this. V wants to focus on standing in for his brother while Baekhyung and Chanyeol are away? Fine. I can understand that he feels he owes them this. So we'll give him time. That doesn't mean this is over."

Hoseok curses,"But-"

"Hyung," Jimin's soft voice interrupts his boyfriend as he wipes at his tear-stained cheeks, "I understand. I want both of them back too. But we need to trust Jungkook. We can wait a bit, right?"

The older grits his teeth before nodding, "Fine. We can wait for a little while."

Jungkook gives a half-smile as he sees the frustration evident on the older man's face. "Don't worry hyung, we're not giving up. They seem to have forgotten who we are. They both underestimated us if they thought we were going to sit back and accept whatever they decided. We'll give them some time. And then we'll go take back what's ours."

Elsewhere

V stares out the window of the private jet at the white, puffy clouds around them. Suga is sitting at his side, staring into space, his eyes and expression unreadable. The older has been like this since they returned a week earlier. He does his job, and guides the younger as they help to keep business moving, but it's as if part of his mind is somewhere else. 'I wonder if it has to do with Jimin and Hobi-hyung?' He'd briefly tried asking about the situation between the three of them, but Suga had quickly shut him down.

They were now on their way to Japan for a meeting, and the silver-hair can't help but feel the ache in his chest grow as he gets further and further away from Korea. He swallows as he wonders what a certain raven haired mafia boss is doing right now. 'No! I can't afford to be distracted. I need to focus on being what Baekhyung needs me to be. I can't be selfish.'

To hide his feelings, he takes a quick swig of the drink in front of him. 'Besides, he hasn't even tried to reach me this past week. He was probably furious when he found the letter. Maybe he gave up on me. Maybe he decided he was better off without a screwed up serial killer in his life. Hell, he might have already moved on and found someone else.'

At the idea of Jungkook finding someone else, the younger's hand tenses around the glass in his hand. 'It wouldn't be hard to find out. And it would be easy to track down whoever he or she is.' With his mind's eye, he begins to imagine what he could do with anyone who tries to replace him. He hears their screams in his head as he pictures using his garden shears to snip off their fingers so they couldn't touch what was his, and plucking out their eyes so they couldn't see Jungkook's bunny-like smile... 'No! Bad V! Kookie would be mad at us if we did that to someone he was dating. Besides, I'm the one who left. I don't have the right to be jealous.'

Wait, jealous? He was jealous? Since when did he care enough about the ravenette to get jealous over someone he hasn't even met, and doesn't even know if they exist? 'Ugh, this was never supposed to happen. I'm V, I don't catch feelings! I'm a monster who tortures people until they're begging for death. I've always just cared about my hyungs, and that was it. But now...', V sighs softly as he sets the glass down. 'No, I need to stay focused. Baeki-hyung needs me. I'm sure this will go away after a while. I just need to be patient.'

Back in Korea, at the same time, a certain ravenette takes a deep breath, 'I just need to be patient.'

AN: Yay, I managed to get out another update and it didn't take forever! But I'm gonna be crazy busy again for the next few weeks dealing with finals, and a research paper, etc. So thank you for being patient with my slow updates! Also, this has 225k reads??? WTF?! I honestly only thought a few people would ever even notice this story, so I'm just floored by the fact that so many people read it and like it. Thank you all so much!

I've also published a Taekook One-shot book that has one story so far. I made it because I get so many ideas for stories that I just don't have time to write whole books about, or that I feel don't warrant a whole book. I hope you'll check it out, it's on my profile. I 💜 you all!
