I shift back and forth worriedly as I watch Dominic fight back. There are a lot more intruders compared to our last attack. I have watched many of our men go down but they always put up a fight. Dominic isn't far from the security room but I know he's too damn stubborn to wait this thing out. I guess this is part of his job description. Seeing movement in two of the surrounding monitors, my heart begins to race. There are two armed men approaching him from different sides. By the looks of it they are going to reach him at the same time. "Give me your gun," I demand, turning to the other guy in the room.
"What?"
"If you want to continue being a part of this life, I suggest you pass it over now."
Reluctantly, he passes it to me. "Take this so I can help you," he says, handing me a small earpiece.
"Thanks."
I quietly open the door and carefully peek out. It's eerily quiet as I make my down the hall. "Dominic is hiding by the bar nearest to you and there are men coming from both directions. They'll be there in approximately thirty seconds."
Crouching down, I slowly make my way towards Dominic who is crouched beside the bar. "Hey," I whisper.
Turning quickly, he aims his gun at my head. "Fuck. What the hell-"
"There's no time. You take the two men on the left, I'll get the two on the right."
"I'd rather die than face Owen when he finds out about this," he mutters.
Rolling my eyes, I aim for the doorway and wait for them to enter. "The men have stopped and are retreating. I think they're leaving."
"What?" I whisper in disbelief. Dominic glances at me in confusion. "The security guy said they're leaving."
He frowns. "Why would they do that?"
"Because we're here," a deep voice says.
Looking up, we see two men with their guns aimed at our heads. "What's going on?"
"I was wondering when you'd come out of hiding," he says. "I've been waiting to meet you."
"Drop the guns," the other guy demands.
Dominic drops his gun angrily as I push mine aside. "What do you want from us?" I ask.
"Either you or the boy. Bryant is it?"
My eyes widen. "I'll do whatever."
Dominic looks at me in disbelief. "They must've snuck in and hid in the blind spot. I didn't know they were there. I'll call for backup."
"Both of you stand up and put your hands up."
We do as we're told and I attempt to swallow the lump that has formed in my throat. "What do you want?" I ask.
"My friend here had a family waiting for him at home last week when Carter's men set their house on fire. They took his family away from him so now I'm going to do the same to Owen. Only I'm going to have a little fun with you first."
My hearts pound in my chest. I can't handle this right now. I'm supposed to get married in less than two weeks. But I guess this is part of being with someone in the mafia - especially one of the leaders. Placing his finger on the trigger, he presses the end of the gun into my chest. "If you move, I'll kill you."
Pulling it away, he makes his way to he other side of the bar. The other guy keeps his gun trained on Dominic's head. Standing in front of me, he uses the gun to push my shirt down between my breasts. "Owen found himself a pretty little one," the other guy comments.
"Mhm," he hums in response. Placing his gun on the barstool, he rips the front of my shirt open, exposing my body. Smiling, he runs his thumb across my pale blue transparent lace bra. "This looks good on you."
My hands begin to tremble as a tear slips down my cheek. I glance at his gun but there's no way I could easily get it. He follows my eyes, smirking. "Don't even try, baby. My boy Johnny over here will shoot you before you get the chance." Grabbing it, he places it in its holster before walking behind me. "Put your hands behind your back."
Slowly, I do as I'm told. He pulls the ripped shirt down my arms and tosses it aside. Next, he unbutton my bra. "No, please," I beg, my voice shaking.
"Think about my friends family begging for their lives when your boyfriends men set their house on fire. Imagine the kids screaming as they burned to death."
I cry quietly as he takes my bra off. Pulling my hands together, he uses a zip tie to keep my hands together, the plastic biting into my skin. Where are the rest of the men? I think to myself. There were so many and now this place is silent. Returning to his place in front of me, he eyes my body. Looking down at the ground, I wish they'd just kill me instead of putting me through this. I notice Dominic's clenched fist in the corner of my eye. The man cups my breasts and this is Dominic's breaking point. Lunging forward, he quickly pushes the other man's gun to the left so when he pulls the trigger it shoots the man in front of me, causing him to drop down to the floor. Sobbing, I watch the scene unfold in front of me. Twisting the gun out of his hand, he takes it and shoots the man in the head. I stare down at the man in front of me as he shoots him in the chest two more times before dropping the gun.
A moment later I am pulled against Dominic's chest, his fingers tangling in my hair as I sob into his chest. After a long moment, he removes his hand from my hair and a few seconds later he frees my hands. I instantly wrap them around him, not wanting to be anywhere else. "Here, put my jacket on," he says softly.
Sniffling, I pull away and wipe my eyes. He takes his jacket off and helps me into it. Putting his arm around me, he guides me to the couch where he sits down. Sitting beside him, I attempt to stop the tears but there's a steady stream. He pulls me against him. "It's okay."
Pulling out his phone, he begins making a few calls, all while trying to calm me. Before I know it, I am fast asleep.
