After Miles takes the glass out of my arm, he cleans it up while I drink from the tequila bottle. Dominic went to get it after taking me to the medical room. At first it was hard to drink because I don't drink very often but after a while my entire body began to feel numb and it was a lot easier to drink. As he wraps my wound, I roll my head to the side to see Dominic. "Thank you. But you really should go do whatever you had planned," I hiccup. "You've done enough."
He smiles. "I told you, I'm all yours today. I already rescheduled."
I turn my head back to Miles. "How long will it take to heal?"
"A couple weeks. Three at the most. It should be healed before the wedding. I had to stitch it up. The stitches will dissolve on their own. Just keep cleaning and if it looks infected then come see me," he says.
I look down at my bandage in my slightly drunken state. "Stitches? When did you do that?"
Both men chuckle and Miles looks at Dominic. "She's good to go. Do you want me to get Owen -"
"No-" Dominic and I say at the same time.
Miles' eyebrows furrow in confusion. Dominic chuckles. "I'll take care of her. Thanks Miles."
"No problem," Miles says, confused.
I sit up and Dominic helps me off the table. He takes the bottle from me and sets it on the counter before opening the door. Keeping his arm around my waist, he leads me to a hallway I've never been down before. We pass a few unmarked doors, stopping at the second to last one. As Dominic unlocks the door, I notice the final door is labeled Security. We enter the room and he helps me into the bedroom where I drop down onto the bed. "Get some sleep and I'll come back in the morning."
"It's not even that late," I complain, cuddling with the pillow.
He smiles down at me. "You're drunk. I'm sure you'll be out in no time. Call me when you wake up."
"You're not staying?" I ask tiredly.
He shakes his head. "I need the security tapes to be my proof that you were only in my room to sleep just in case Owen finds out. I'll stay with a friend a couple doors down."
"Okay."
I close my eyes, feeling his fingers gently brushing my hair away from my face. Not long after that, I am fast asleep.

When I wake up in the morning, I go straight to Miles for some pills. The pain in my arm is unbearable but shortly after taking the painkillers, the pain begins to fade. Dominic texted me early this morning, apologizing for not being there when I woke up but promised he'd check in on me when he's finished doing whatever it is he is doing.
I am sitting in the cafeteria eating breakfast when I hear the sound of Owen's voice. "I don't fukcing care," he growls in irritation. "I want him in my office now."
"Yes, sir."
I stare down at my plate, feeling his presence near me. "Madison," he says, approaching me.
"Yes, sir?" I ask, pushing around the scrambled eggs on my plate.
"What the fuck happened to your arm?" he demands.
"I fell."
"Why am I always the last person to know about your health?" he asks, sounding irritated.
"Maybe if you acted like you cared I'd feel more obligated to tell you," I shrug.
He frowns. "Please come back to the room with me. I want to speak with you."
I shake my head. "It always ends the same way when we go back to the room."
He sighs. "Then lets go sit out in the lounge where it's a little bit quieter."
"Fine," I say, standing up.
He grabs the stuff off the table and tosses it in the trash on the way out. I follow him to the lounge where a few people sit. Owen nods his head and they all leave. Rolling my eyes, I sit on the leather chair kitty-corner from him. "Tell me what happened."
"I already told you - I fell."
"On fucking what? You have a bandage on your arm," he says angrily.
"Why the hell are you so mad?" I ask in disbelief. "The only thing I've done is ignore you. Which is a lot more acceptable than your behavior."
He shakes his head. "Madison, I'm sorry. Things are finally falling into place with the business and I finally got my mother off of my back. I just need a short break before doing anything major."
The feeling in my chest pisses me off. How can I possibly feel bad for him after the way he's treated me? I know he's had a lot going on but is it so hard to be the same man I fell in love with? I don't want to lose him. "So... what do you want?" I ask quietly, looking down at the floor.
"I want to take that little vacation I promised you before leaving. We'll be gone a few days. I'll take a woman from the day care along to keep an eye on Bryant at night so we can go out. I've already planned out all of the details, I just need you to say yes."
He holds out his hand for me to take and I place my hand in his. He pulls it so I stand up and sit on his lap. Leaning my back against the side of the couch, I cuddle up against his chest. "I'd love to," I say, meeting him halfway for a kiss.
The kiss only lasts a short moment before he pulls away. "We're leaving first thing in the morning. Two of my men are coming with us."
I furrow my eyebrows. "Which ones?"
"Dominic and one of his friends. I promised him he could come because he's done a lot for me throughout his years here."
Dominic. That should be interesting.
