When can i see you again? [Pt.1]

"I miss you so much, babe." Tom said through the video chat.

"Diddo. But I'm here for another 11 months." I said.

"You won't make it back for Christmas again?" He asked starting to tear up.

"No, I'm so sorry. The Air Force needs me though." I said.

"I know. Christmas has become literally my least favorite holiday now." He said.

I chuckled.

"What about Parker and Paisley? You have them too!" I said.

Parker and Paisley are both 2 years old. They're twins. I had to take a break from the Air Force for them for a long time, but about two months after they were born, I had to go back. There weren't many people fighting and they needed me.

Their birthday is May 29th 2016. Today is December 22nd 2018 and I haven't been home since after the two months they were born. I couldn't even be there for their first birthday or their second. I'm so upset about it, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

I missed so much. I missed their first Christmas too. I missed their first everything!

"But they miss you so much! They wanna have their mama around." Tom said.

"Did someone say mama!" I heard Parker yell from behind Tom.

Paisley and Parker came running into the living room and sat with Tom. I smiled at them.

"Hi Parker, hi Paisley!" I said waving.

"Hi mamaaa!!" They yelled in unison.

Both of them were waving back.

"Will you be home for Christmas?" Parker said with such hope.

"I'm so sorry, but I won't be able to make it back in time. I still got eleven months. Keep counting down the days." I said.

Hey smiled and nodded slightly. I sighed.

"Well I've gotta go. I'll talk to you guys later. Love you guys." I said blowing a kiss.

I waved to them.

"Love you!!" They all said in unison.

They waved back. I ended the call and shut the laptop.

That was hard acting. I can't act sad around them.

Now you might think I'm an asshole for not being sad not seeing my family, but that's not the truth.

I'm actually visiting them tomorrow. I'm coming back today, it will take a day, and visit for 3 weeks. That's it, I wish it was a little more time.

I packed my things and set it in the truck. There were two other guys that get to visit their family. There's not many people in the Air Force, but only a few get to visit at a time. Since I didn't visit in 2 years, I automatically get access to leave and visit.

We rode in ten truck talking about our families.

We arrived at the airport. We were wearing our Air Force uniforms. We walked in and people looked over to us. I felt eyes on us. We walked to our separate planes and boarded.

"See you guys in three weeks." I said.

They nodded.

I arrived back home in Santa Monica. Oh how I've missed this place.

So, I have a plan for revealing to my family I'm back home. So there's still A place where you can sit on Santa's lap and everything, I'm not going to be Santa clause, I'm gonna be the elf helping. I told my best friend, Harrison, who's also married and has kids, that I'm coming home. I'm meeting up with him right now. He's at the airport with his family. But I'm meeting them and then they're gonna take their families to the mall for everything and it's perfect.

I was searching through the airport and soon found Harrison. I waved at them and he looked over. All their faces lit up. I ran over to them and group hugged and then hugged them individually.

"Are you ready?" Haz asked.

"So ready. I missed you guys so much. We have so much to catch up on." I said.

"Auntie y/n, do you like my dinosaur?" Haley asked.

"I love it." I said.

She smiled. We walked out to the car.

"I get to sit on auntie y/n's lap!" Hayden said.

He hopped on my lap and I hugged him. We drove off talking about everything.

I can't wait for the surprise!!
