AM 11:45:03Connor had an underlying appreciation for rainy days.
He certainly appreciated the days where he didn't need to focus on investigations and homicide cases, and all he was required to do during these assigned days was to stay at home and ... relax. Although, despite this given opportunity, he would be more pleased to spend these off days with (Name). And when he heard that she would be sharing the same off days with Connor, he almost smiled giddily.
He looked over to the blissfully happy woman that approached him with a light bounce to every step she took. By then did he notice an umbrella sitting contently in her hands — and he realized something.
"You got the umbrella that I had left at the station." He seemed dumbfounded.
(Name) looked at him with the usual, lovely gaze that he adored.
"I was glad that it was still there." She looked back at the object, and broke out into a slight grin. "It's nice to know that no one decided to take it for themselves."
"Well, it is quite a relief that no one chose to steal the umbrella. Otherwise we would have almost no way to smoothly commute from home to the local coffee shop." For a moment, he paused. "Although if it ever comes to that, we could always use my jacket as a substitute."
She seemed to consider that idea. Although she shook her head.
"No. No, I won't let you do that. We'll find some other way to get there, if it ever comes to that." She huffed, turned her heel, and began to saunter towards the front door. It didn't take long before (Name) made it to the entrance, and she waited patiently for Connor to trail behind.
(Name) opened the door and watched the rain pouring from their front porch. The repetitive sound that the rain made as it poured against countless surfaces, ranging from plastic to concrete, created a more soothing sound as she stepped out.
She almost immediately opened her umbrella and rushed over to the nearest puddle. She jumped in, giggling as she did. Well, there goes her boots.
And then she ran back to Connor with the biggest, childish looking grin she could muster. She had that tendency to do the most childish of things, which may look weird to many — specifically adults — although she never seemed to care. He found it cute.
"Sorry, I ran off without considering. Let's go!" She held up the umbrella so it shielded both of their heads, and beamed from ear to ear. And then they began to make their way to the busy sidewalk. (Name) seemed awfully happy today — do humans feel happiness sporadically? Is it really not constant?
He's been happy and content ever since he started to feel emotions. Maybe there was the occasional time where that emotion wouldn't be suitable, since that situation would either be too serious or heartwrenching to be something lighthearted and pleasant. But, overall, Connor felt that his happy comportment was, at most, constant. Although, it's things like human unpredictability that gets to him nowadays. They really can be ... unpredictable.
"Let me hold the umbrella." Connor reached toward the handle of the umbrella, despite (Name)'s protests. It came to that point where she'd have to pull away much further than what she'd like, as the rain began to pour over the two of them.
"Ah! I'm so sorry!" (Name) quickly pulled the umbrella over them, and Connor was quick to grab onto it. She continued to tell him not to, but was he going to listen? He considered ... but no, he's not going to. "Connor!"
"Androids don't feel tired, (Name). And I'm taller, so it's less difficult for me to reach the both of us. I can do it." He raised the umbrella a little bit higher. She glared up at him, although it didn't hold any spite or hate towards the android. And eventually, she gave up.
