"It was just after class ended. My friend asked me to follow to him to the back of the school. It was weird. Then Rin showed up saying he was possessed. He proceeded to kick the crap out of him and banished the demon. He told me to go home and I did. Also my mom knows Rin somehow. But, after threatening to kill me, he agree to make me a student."

"He threatened to kill you?" Harumi asked.

"Yeah, but it looked like he was looking for an excuse not to." I said.

"I'm interested in this friend." Reika said.

"Oh, the dark past part. They used to call me a demon child. I would get angry or frustrated easily and lash out. The first time someone got hurt was because they made fun of my eyes, they were so different. I lost control and I didn't know how to control my strength. The kid ended up in the hospital, with a broken arm, a fractured rib, bruises and cuts. After that people began to believe that I was a demon. People would run away from me on the streets, adults and even gang members were afraid of me. More incidents happen after the first. Once a church man actually threw holy water on me. It stung like hell, I know why demons hate it so much. It was the first day of third grade, and no one would sit near me. Except Dylan. I warned him but he said something that changed my life. He said if I had all this power to hurt people, why not use it to help people. And so I did. People began to stop glaring and running, soon I was just a normal person, and finally I began to have friends. I could be happy again. But people staring still makes me nervous and I can still hear them yelling and screaming sometimes."

"Wow, talk about a horrible childhood. But what's this about your eyes being different?" Kazuma asked.

I looked him in the eyes and his widened in surprise.

"They're purple." he blurted out.

"Maybe you have demon blood in you. It's happened before, demons having children with human and even shinigami." Katsu said.

"Yeah, so what? Your blood is not your choice, so why judge you for it? We're all your friends and we'll stick by you no matter what you are. We promise." Reika said.

"Thank you." I smiled and everyone smiled in return.

"Well, I'm going to study. You two should also be studying and Reika too." Kazuma said, standing up.

He dragged Haruki, Izumi, and Reika off to study. Katsu and Harumi also departed, while I went to the kitchen to help wash dishes. But mostly to talk to that demon.

Turns out that demon is really nice. His name was stove, which is appropriate for a kitchen demon. On my way back to my dorm, I ran into someone. Literally. I backed up and immediately started blushing. I had run into Rin, who was wearing nothing but pants and towel around his neck.

"Oh hey." he said, rubbing his wet hair with the towel.

"Where have you been?" I asked, my face warm.

"Had to do stuff for Brightcross. It was stupid but I just got back. Did I miss anything?" he asked.

"No, just wondering."

I really had been wondering, almost to the point of being worried.

"Hey" Rin said drawing my attention again. "Meet me on the roof in five minutes."

"Okay." I stammered.

He went around me and disappeared into his room. I hurried to my room and changed into a tee and jeans.

"Where are you going?" Harumi asked.

"To the roof."

"You should bring a jacket."
