"Hey, Misaki. Got a surprise here for you." Ratio said, walking through the door.
He was holding the hand of a little boy between six and eight. The little boy had the biggest jade green eyes, a mess of black hair on top of his head, and the cutest smile. He wore a black shirt and shorts. He also had a little tail and cat ears on top of his head.
He ran towards me, his arms outstretched.
"Onee-chan!" he said happily.
(A/N I know I haven't been using any japanese but I'm using this because I mean, come on it makes Rokura sound even more adorable. Also I know Onee-chan mean big sister, however Misaki and Rokura are in no way related, other than being demons. Both being demons Rokura uses Onee-chan as saying she is an older demon and a sister figure to him. Thank you for reading!)
He hugged my legs, smiling up at me.
"Rokura?"
He smiled even bigger and giggled. I knelt down to look at him better. Oh my god, he was adorable.
"Look! Look! I'm like you now, Onee-chan! Look, I have fingers!" he said, wiggling his fingers in front of me.
"That's Rokura? He's so cute!" Reika squealed.
"He is quite adorable." Katsu said.
"I wish my familiar was that cute." Harumi said.
"Tch, this kid is better at getting girls attention than us." Izumi said to Haruki.
"If you want girls attention, do something worth their attention, you morons. Like having good grades, or being good at fighting, or even having any skills." Kazuma patronized.
"Well, did I do good?" Ratio asked, smiling.
"You did great, thank you Ratio." I said.
"Now we can play more! And we can go to parks, and stores, and festivals, and candy stores! I like candy, Onee-chan! And sushi!" Rokura said.
Rin and Inari walked in and looked at me and Rokura. The familiars looked at each other, then at their owners, then at the others owner. I picked up Rokura, who wrapped his little arms around my neck. Inari bounced closer for a better look at Rokura. He hid his face against me, shyly. Rin walked over to us and put a hand on Rokura's head. Rokura looked at Rin and stretched an arm out towards him. Rin took Rokura out of my arms and held him, smiling.
"Aww, they look like one big happy family! I think I know what RiSaki's child would look like." Reika said.
I glared at her. Her face paled and she smiled, trying to look innocent. But there was some truth in Reika's words. Rin was looking at Rokura as if he were Rin's son. And Rokura did look somewhat like Rin. They had similar eye shape, facial structure, and hair.
"Rokura, this is my familiar, Inari. She's really nice and she likes sushi, just like you do. Can you stay with her? It's just for class and I even have a snack in my bag for you two." Rin asked.
Rokura nodded, and Rin put him down. Inari smiled and took his hand. Rokura smiled too and followed Inari.
"What? Why are you looking at me like that?" Rin asked Reika.
She was staring at us, her eyes huge. I knew what she was thinking. Big happy family again. Maybe she was also thinking about how gentle Rin was with Rokura. Rin would be a great father, I thought. Rin shrugged and walked towards the batting cage.
"You guys remember this thing, right?" Rin asked with a smirk.
"Don't remind me." I groaned.
"Well, all of you are going up against this bad boy! This will test and strengthen your speed and reflexes. Those with scythes, step on in." Rin said.
Kazuma, Katsu, and Haruki entered the cage, scythes at the ready.
"Three player mode activated. Level setting easy." the same robotic female voice said.
I watched them fave the same challenge I faced. Inari and Rokura were sitting off to the side, sharing a snack of sushi.
"Player two wins."
"I won?" Katsu asked.
"Yeah, great job Katsu." Kazuma said, making Katsu blush.
"Damn, thats a lot more intense than it looks. I see why you were complaining before, Misaki." Haruki said.
"Two player mode activated. Level setting easy."
Izumi and Reika had entered the cage. Using guns, they exploded the flying baseballs.
"Both players win." Izumi and Reika high fived and left the cage. I guess it's me and Harumi's turn.
I stood ready with a wooden swords in my hands. I closed my eyes and tapped into my inner strength.
"Two player mode activated. Level setting easy."
My eyes snapped open as the first ball came towards me. It was almost as if everything slowed down a little. I was able to hit every ball that came flying at me. I smashed them one after the other, some of them breaking on impact.
"Player one wins."
"What the hell? Misaki, that was awesome. You were going insanely fast." Izumi said.
"Really?" I asked.
"Yep, you did great." Rin said.

Things after that became pretty normal. As normal as things can be for a half demon training to become a shinigami.
