I opened up my eyes. Sweat ran down my forehead. What in the world happened. I was shaking. I sat up. Than I remembered: it was a bad dream. Again! I stood up and opened the windows. The morning air filled the room. I closed my eyes and enjoyed the moment. Until- knock, knock. "Good morning hun. Time for breakfast." My mom was standing infront of the closed door and waited for me to answer. "Good morning, I'll be there in ten." I heard her walk away. I went and put on a pair of High-waist, black Hotpants with ripped ends and a grey oversized hoody with the logo of the Hardrock Cafe printed on. I went into the bathroom and washed my face. Then I put on my makeup and tied my hair into a bun. I grabbed my phone and went outside. I went down the elevator and into the restaurant. I looked for my family and went to sit down. "Good morning," I said. I gave mom a kiss on her cheek and sat down across from her, next to Jaxon. As then finally the waitress came I ordered pancakes with fruits and bacon. My favorite! After breakfast we agreed to take a hike. The air was nice and the sky was so pretty. I definitely took alot of pictures. We hiked for about an hour and looked for a nice, sunny spot to take a break. We found one on a field next to the woods. Mom and Michael laid down and closed there eyes. I wasn't tired. I said that I would go into the woods to look and started walking. "Wait up," Jaxon started running and caught up. "'you mind if I come with?" I shook my head. We walked into the woods. It was alot of fun with him. We laughed so hard at times my stomach hurt. We watched a deer family pass. I looked over to Jaxon. He could be so funny at times the way he imitated Jessica (we talked about the breakup). He curled his lips together and through his hand to the side. I didn't even know he could talk that high. As I was sitting on a log and he was sitting on the floor across from me, I notice him looking at me. "What's the matter?" "It's just...I didn't expect you being so...well, uhm....it's fun hanging around you." I smiled. "Thanks. You too." "You have to know," he added. "Your mom wasn't the only one my dad married after the divorce. Some of the wives had kids about your age. Jessica was one of them." I raised my eyebrows. "Wow." "Yeah," he went on. "But your the first that I can actually really talk to... well, you know... who well doesn't just think about....well, yeah." I nodded. " I can picture that." He nodded. Then I looked at the time. "I think we should go back."
"And then you just stood up and left!? Without a smooch or at least something!?" "Maggy!" "I'm sorry. Listen, I have a date in an half an hour so I'll better be going." My eyes widened. "A date!? Seriously!? And you're telling me this now!?" Maggy's face on the screen turned to an innocent smile. "I'm sorry," "who is the lucky man?" "Benjamin Brown." "Oh, ist that the guy who you were making out with?" "No, I don't think you know him." Her cheeks went red. "Okay then, have fun." She waved and then her face disappeared.
I heard someone knock at my door. I opened up. "Hy, I'm Layla. I have my room just across from yours. Who are you?" A blond, thin, small teenager, around my age, was standing outside my room. She had the prettiest smile ever! "I'm Hayley." I smiled back. "Are you here alone?" I shook my head. "No, my stepbrother, my stepdad and my mom are right next door." "Oh, is your stepbrother that hot guy with the dark messed up hair?" I had to laugh. "Yeah, that's probably him." "Are you here by yourself?" "No, I'm here with my mom, as well." "Cool." "Yeah, so I'll see you around. Good buy." Then she ran off.The days past and Layla and I became super good friends. We Skyped together with Maggy and we three had so much fun. I've never had a vacation friend but I liked it. We did so many things together. We went eating ice cream, we rode our bikes to the city and went shopping and we went for a swim everyday. In the evenings we sat on the sofa in the lobby and just talked non-stop. During that time Jaxon sat at the bar and watched us or phoned his friends.
Today was Friday and Layla and I were in the pool watching the sun go down. We talked about boys and how some could be real jerks. I told her about Ayden.
Layla had to leave in the morning and so we just talked and talked and didn't want the evening to end. But the time went by faster than we thought and soon in was night and we hugged each other goodbye. After that we went into our rooms. Isn't it sad how when you find a new friend she's gone the next minute? I lay in bed and waited until tiredness hit me.It was already two weeks after Layla had gone. I enjoyed the vacation days and hoped that this would last for ever. It was Friday evening. I was sitting in my room writing as I heard my phone vibrate. I picked it up. 'you have one new message.' I clicked on it and the message appeared. The one who had written was 'unknown'. The message said: 'I know who you are and where you are. Leave your hands away from Jaxon otherwise I'll kill you! Don't tell anyone I wrote to you. I'm watching you Hayley Williams.'
