(5 weeks later: 7th of September)
Yeah, I said to myself. This looks good. I was standing infront of the mirror, wearing an oversized, grey jumper and black, skinny jeans. My hear I had tied to a high ponytail.
Today was the first school day after the holidays. I opened my room door and walked happily down the stairs. "Hello, hun. You look wonderful today." "Thanks," I replied sitting down and starting to spread a thick layer of peanut butter onto my sandwich. "That baby belly suits you very well, mom." "I know, right." Mom rubbed her belly proudly. "Good morning Michael." Michael walked into the kitchen and gave mom a big kiss on her cheek. "Good morning, my two beautiful woman."
"Are you high or something?" Jaxon asked, walked down the stairs sleepy. He looked so good without a shirt, only wearing his grey joggers. Even his hair looked so cute, messed up. "We're just very happy." He frowned. "Okay?" He walked over to the kitchen counter and made him self a bowl of cereal. After inhaling my sandwich I stood up to get ready. After I had brushed my teeth I threw my backpack over my shoulder, took my phone and went outside, wishing everyone a good day.
"Good morning my absolute best friend who's gone on three dates with her very hot stepbrother." I rolled my eyes smiling. "Good morning my absolute best friend who can't stop talking about it." Maggy had just arrived at my house now giving me a big hug.
We climbed into my small car and drove to school.
"Guess what." Maggy's face bloomed.
"What?" I asked. "It's Jaxon's birthday tomorrow." Oh yeah! I totally forgot. "Why do you know something like that and I don't?" Maggy chuckled. "I'm sorry to say this but you're kinda forgetful." I laughed. "Thanks for reminding me. Otherwise I would've forgotten." She laughed as well."Hayley! So good to finally see you again! You have to tell me everything! What's up with Jaxon?" Sam came running over to me and almost suffocating me while giving me a hug. I looked over to Maggy. "Wait, you told her?" Maggy raised her eyebrows and shrugged her shoulders while innocently lifting her hands. "It slipped out?" I laughed and friendly nudged her in her arm. "Oh stop it."
Then I quickly moved Sam and Maggy towards the classroom to avoid the person coming. I had seen Ayden walk into the school building and I didn't feel at all like talking or explaining. He obviously hadn't seen me yet. We walked into the classroom that was full of students talking and laughing. Everyone wanted to tell the other person their summer Holliday highlight. Then the teacher came in and told everyone to slowly get quiet.
Urgh! Physics! That was definitely not one of the subjects you want on your first school day.
After, what felt like, an eternity later the first school day was over. It hadn't been to spectacular. It was nice seeing my friends again, though.
Maggy hugged me goodbye and climbed into Angie's car, one of her friends, and I headed to my own car. As I arrived I found the driver's door open and Jaxon leaned against the side of the car. I walked up to him and gave him a hug. "What in the world are you doing here?" "I don't know," he said looking around. "I thought I might pick you up. Do you want to drive down to the beach and maybe take a walk or so?" I climbed onto the passengers seat and through my bag into the back of the car. "Sure." As we drove I turned on some music and started to sing along. Jaxon shook his head and smiled. "You're crazy, you know that right?" "I'm sorry," I said in a funny way. "I can't hear you."We arrived, parked the car and started to walk down the beach. It was already around 4pm and the beach was almost empty. We walked all the way to a low wall and sat down watching the waves. "Hayley, I have to tell you something. I found an apartment and I'm going to move out next week." Wow, this was some news. I raised my eyebrows. "That's, well, that's great. Can I then come visit you sometimes?" "Sure, you may of course all come if you want. You know something?" "Hm?" "I really like having you as a stepsister and best friend." Well, that was nice, but was he friend zoning me? He laid his hand around my shoulder and I leaned my head on his. I don't care, I thought. I don't want to ruin the moment.
