Post-Downpour

I love the smell of the rain

And how the soil turns wet and mushy

From the constant flow of water from above

And how the grass turns a little bit greener

From the pounding of those droplets

I love how it seems to breathe life

Into the drying dying world

I love how the wind turns a little cooler

Just from the breeze catching up with the clouds

I love how everything seems a little sharper

Every time they fall

Little drops or big pour

Quietly falling or loudly lashing out

With thunders and lightnings

That seems to light the sky up

And splitting the horizon with thin powerful lines

I love how it rains

When it rains

I can breathe a little deeper

Live a little lighter

Smile a little brighter

Just from the palpable change in the air

That speaks of a promise

About life

That is beautiful and fair
