Joey’s Point of View

“Scorp, come here!” I call the blonde as he walks by me.

“What?” he replies. “We’re going to be late for dinner, come on,” he says, dragging me towards the Great Hall.

“I really need your help,” I beg. “Please?”

He sighs before saying, “Fine, but you owe me. I want two cauldron cakes tonight with some fresh butterbeer from the kitchens.”

“Done,” I smile, knowing full well I’ll be able to get all of the food I want from the elves in the kitchen.

He reluctantly follows me, and once we’re only a few meters from where we have to be, he stops me.

“Joey! I can’t go in there!” he complains as I drag him up the steps.

“Come on Scorpius! I need you! I’ll take the blame if we get in trouble!” He groans as I open the door to the Gryffindor common room, and hesitantly he steps inside. “You know you’re not going to light on fire just because you’re a Slytherin in the Gryffindor common room, right? It’s fine; don’t worry; everyone is at dinner anyway.”

He stares at the plush red couch a few seconds before he actually sits down on it. “This place is so… weird,” he comments, looking around. “Compared to my common room, I mean.”

I chuckle in response. “Whatever Scorp, now get off your butt and come to my room; I have to show you something,” I say, now getting more serious.

I lead him to my room and pull out a tied pack of letters from my trunk. He narrows his eyes at me, so I just hand over the whole stack to him.

He reads over a couple of them before turning his attention back to me.

“Who sent you these?” he asks, concerned.

“I don’t know, that’s the issue,” I reply.

… or things will get very bad for you… Joey, tell someone about this!”

“No!”

“My mum and dad can-“

“Scorp, no. There’s one in there that says if I get adults involved, they’ll really hurt me.”

”Joey, this is serious,” he sighs. “We’re not like our  parents; we can’t fight everything that comes our way.”

“You sound so much like Aunt Audrey,” I sigh. “Your parents are both very clever! Do you think you could figure out who’s sending these?”
