3. Getting Into the Routine
The next day of filming was the same, although surprisingly I didn't feel worn out by the end of the day.
"Get your finishing touches done quick!" Pierce shouted at the cast. "We're filming in a minute."
I was bouncing up and down in place, just as I had the day I received the news that had changed my life, anxious to begin the scene. It was the one where I-Leah-was single-handedly-not including "Keith"-searching for Sienna's murderer.
Lovely scene, right? It was actually one of the scenes I was most excited about. I don't think it's too difficult to figure out the one I was waiting for the most.
"You okay?" Pierce asked me as he walked over.
"Mmm hmm," I replied. "I just really like this scene, and I'm excited to act it out."
He smiled. "That's good. Just don't speak your lines excitedly."
"Oh, I won't," I assured him. "This is probably going to be one of my best scenes."
"I hope so." He patted me on the shoulder and walked away. "Places!" he shouted. Once everyone was ready, and he cued everything, the scene began.
All in all, I did very well, as did everyone else. Mr. Pierce, being the nice man he is, allowed us to end early-yay!-because of our "phenomenal" work. That was why I wasn't completely worn out.
"Can't wait for the weekend," Tyson said in passing.
I nodded, and went on towards my trailer. I was able to get a decent amount of sleep, and woke up to my alarm clock-which Pierce had given me the day before on account of my being late-refreshed.
I walked to the set with one of the extras. While we walked, we passed Tyson, who was dripping wet.
"Uh, Tyson," I said hesitantly. The girl I was walking with and I stopped. "Why are you soaking wet?"
He stopped and looked at me, wiping his hair with a towel. "Huh?" he asked.
I motioned to his body. "Why are you covered in water? Did I miss something?"
It took him a moment to realize what I was talking about. "Oh, Pierce didn't tell you about the pool?"
My confused expression was his answer.
"Oh," Tyson said. "Well, in the basement of that building"-he pointed to the building that I believed to be the office-"there's a pool."
"Why?"
"Don't ask me. Pierce just wants his actors to have fun and keep in shape at the same time, I guess."
"Okay," I said with a shrug.
"See you on set," he said as he walked away.
I nodded. The extra and I shared a strange glance, and kept walking.
We began shooting about ten minutes later.
"Honey, it'll be okay," my "mom" assured me, giving her line.
I was crying-from the fake tears they squirted into my eyes. "No, it won't be," I sobbed. "How can you even say that?"
She hesitated, not knowing what to say.
The rest of the scene was just as confusing and sad. By the end, my eyes were stinging from all of the eyedrops. We were almost done for the day, and my eyes were screaming for an end.
