^So later when I refer to a block or city block, I, referring to just one of those squares, if any of you need a visual for the following chapter^

Peter's POV

I swung through the air, web by web, as fast as I possibly could. I raced towards Queens, towards my old neighborhood. I prayed I'd be able to do this in time. I considered calling the police once I landed behind to my building but then I saw another note.

I see you've arrived. Don't call the police, this is your job. If you tell them I'll detonate the bombs remotely. Don't tell any of your Avenger friends either. I'm trusting you to do the right thing here, Peter. Are you competent to pass my test?

I felt my heart sink and my hands were shaking so much I could barely read the frail piece of paper. It was as if I was so shocked I didn't have time to panic. I pushed away the anxious thoughts of all kinds and flung myself up to the roof.

"Karen? Can you scan for bombs or something?! Do your thing?!" I asked desperately, looking around at the surrounding buildings of the block.

"I can't locate bombs specifically, but I can tell you there's significant amount of radiation in the areas shown." As she spoke, everything dimmed except for spots I could see glowing within the buildings. She'd adjusted my sight so I could seek out the bombs.

I quickly thought up a plan: I would pull the fire alarm in each building and tell everyone to leave the area; then, I'd go around and try to find all of the bombs; I would then defuse them (with the help of Karen) and hopefully save the neighborhood and catch the guy who set this all up.

"Okay. Okay, okay, okay. Everything's going to be fine. Just relax." I whispered to myself as I went back down to the ground. The only buildings with bombs in them were the ones around the block. There were, like, 15 buildings on my city block but only 10 bombs. "Only 10 bombs" gee, never thought I'd think that.

I went building after building, pulling the fire alarms. When people started pouring out I turned on a microphone thingy in my suit that made my voice real loud. "There's no fire, don't call the police or fire department. I need everyone to clear the area immediately! I'm sorry to wake you in the middle of the night but it was absolutely necessarily. I'm not a criminal or anything, I'm Spider-Man. Please trust me on this!" I repeated variations of this as more and more people came out.

About 45 minutes later, all the alarms were pulled and people were evacuated. I estimated I had about an hour left after asking Karen what time it was.

"Time to defuse some bombs. It'll be fine. I'm fine. Everything's going to be fine." I told myself. I hoped May got out okay, even after everything I'd been through with her. I, once again, pushed away the worry in my mind so I could focus.

I ran into the first building that had a glowing area inside of it. It was Mr. Delmar's sandwich shop. I hoped, once again, that I'd succeed with defusing everything. I came into this shop with him when I was only a child. And again, I pushed those distracting thoughts away.

I went towards the glowing light, accidentally walking into the counter top due to the darkness of the night and my dimmed vision. "Fuck, fuck fuck fuck. What the fuck has my life turned into?!" I cursed aloud, finding the bomb inside of the freezer room, within a box of bologna.

"Okay... Karen? How the hell do I uh- defuse a bomb?" I asked in a voice almost casually. Casually. Jesus Christ...

(A/N: I'm not even going to bother attempting to explain how to defuse a bomb. I researched it but can't find anything so whatever). Karen continued to walk me through the decision, letting me know which wires go where, what I pull and cross, where to plug things in, etc. What would I do without her?
