Yugo's POV:

The next morning took all too long to arrive. Anxious to get my mind off the nightmare, I wait impatiently for Halzi to do her morning check-up. "Halzi?" I ask while she checks my health. "Yes, King Yugo?" "Uh.... well..." Even though I've been waiting for hours, I have a hard time getting the question out. She raises an eyebrow. "What, Bow-Meow got your tongue? Unusual for you, isn't it?" I frown a little. "Well..." She rolls her eyes, recovering her usual vigor. "Is it all right with you, if my health checks out, if I start walking around and getting exercise like I usually do?" A nervous look flashes in her eyes when I ask, but only for a moment. "What do you mean, 'like you usually do'? Your usual routine is insane, even for you!" I open my mouth to protest but she interrupts with a sigh. "I won't allow you to do your usual routine, however, I will allow you to at least get some exercise. Moderate and at a slow pace, to make sure you don't injure yourself. That way you can recover your strength faster, and don't have to worry about aggravating your injury." I break out in a grin. "Thank you so much, Halzi!" She snorts, sounding annoyed, but I knew she was faking it. Even though Halzi may seem tough, I know all too well she's more bark than bite. She gives me a clean bill of health, or at least, how healthy I can be at this point, and I take off with her calling after me. "Don't forget to take it easy! Oh, and stop all that running! You'll reopen your wounds!" I wave her off. "Okay, okay!" I slow my pace to a brisk jog and head out into the day. It's surprisingly sunny, and I have to shade my eyes. Before I have the chance to react, I'm attacked by a tiny salmon-pink blur. "Papa!" "Woah!" I stumble backwards, wincing under the sudden weight. Cedar is clinging to my back, the biggest grin you could ever imagine spread across his face. "You're okay! You're walking around! I can't believe it!" I smile. "Yes, Cedar, I am!" He jumps off and I ruffle his hair, while he giggles. "Yugo!" Dally is standing nearby, a look of relief on his face. He walks over, with a look akin to pride. "Good to see you're up and at it!" I give a half-smirk. "Good to be up and at it." Amalia is standing nearby too, but if she notices that I'm out, she doesn't acknowledge it. I stifle a sigh. I should have told her the truth.... Dally notices the sigh and where I was looking. "Oooh, lady troubles, huh? I know all too much about that... I get in trouble with Eva all the time." His ears droop a little. "All it takes for her to scare the Iop outta me is that look she gives..." He pauses for a moment, shuddering. "If looks could kill...." He pats my back reassuringly, and heads the opposite direction as Amalia is standing, and I assume he's heading towards Eva. Cedar looks up at me, looking a little confused. "Women. I don't think anyone but them can really understand what goes on in their heads." I half-smirk again, and he mirrors my look of amusement, even though it was clear he hadn't the slightest idea what I was talking about. When I look up at Amalia, she's staring at me, then quickly looks away. "Well, Cedar, I have something important to do. I'll see you later, okay?" Cedar nods, looking happy. "Okay papa! See you!" He says in reply seconds before dashing off. I head towards Amalia, all the while mentally preparing myself for what could happen.
