Arthur had a feeling that whatever was in the book would hold the answers that he sought. 'Whatever is in this book could answer all of my questions.' He opened the book and noticed that the author was unknown. Arthur closed the book and continued to stare at Alexis while she read. Arthur would never admit it, but he found the way that Alexis scrunched her nose while she read was cute. She was so focused on her book that she completely ignored the loud noise around her.

The way Alexis nibbled on her bottom lip drove Arthur crazy; he wanted to kiss her so badly. He wondered what her soft lips tasted like. 'I'll win that bet, Sweets. Make no mistake about that.' Arthur mentally swore as he continued to stare at Alexis. David watched them with a smile on his face. 'They would make a good couple.' A brilliant idea popped into his head; he walked over to where Alexis was sitting and tapped her shoulder. She soon set her book on the table and looked at him. "Yeah, Boss." David groaned when she called him that dreaded name.

"Alexis, how often have I asked you not to call me boss?" She tilts her head and gives him an innocent smile. "Counting today, about 48 times." David gave her a playful glare and sat on the other side of her."How many of the sights have you seen?" Alexis heard David ask her. "Just the pub and Madelyn's bookshop." Arthur and David sent her looks of disbelief. "You've been here for a whole week, and you still haven't seen that much of Djúpavík!!" David exclaimed; he couldn't believe that she hadn't seen all of the village.

"Bryan, Michael, and I have only explored the outside of the village when we moved here. So does that count?" Arthur raised his brow and shrugged. "Sorry, Princess, but exploring the outside of the village doesn't count." Alexis quietly muttered something about Arthur being a killjoy. 'She's interesting, that's for sure.' Arthur grinned at Alexis, but his grin soon fell when he heard David offer Alexis a village tour. He cut the other man a go-to-hell look. "Alexis, I can show you around the village if you want." David kindly offered, ignoring Arthur's glare.

The thought of Alexis being alone with David had made Arthur's blood boil."I can show you around." He said without thinking, but once Arthur realized what he said, it was too late to take it back. Alexis smiled brightly at him and softly said, "I'd like that. Thank you, Arthur." He felt a great sense of pride at knowing that he had been the one that made her smile. 'Mission Complete.' David was so happy that his plan had worked. "Ok, Alexis, time to get back to work." She put her book back in her bag and got up. Alexis went to the break room to set her favorite blue bag on the table before returning to work.

[Alexis's Bag]

As Alexis was working, Arthur read while occasionally glancing at her now and then as she worked. "I've never heard of Ice wolves." He quietly said as he continued reading. The book that Alexis had given him contained everything about Ice wolves. Their history, hierarchy, laws, and a very detailed description of mates and mate bonds were within the book that he held in his hands. The whole time that he was reading, Arthur started wondering if everything in the book was true.
