"Arthur should be here by now." Alexis sighed and heard a knock at the door. Getting off of the couch, she walked to the front door and opened it. Arthur grinned when he saw the shocked look on her face. "Well, hello to you too, Babe." Snapping out of shock, she stood on her tippy toes and shyly pecked his lips."If this is the thanks I get for surprising you, I should do it more often." Arthur smirked and reached into his coat pocket. He pulls out a poorly wrapped gift and hands it to her.

Alexis opens the gift, and she beams happily. "You remembered." She spoke softly, and he grinned at her. Alexis wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him."Thank you, Arthur." She said in between kisses. He was glad that she liked her gift. Arthur bought her a book called Song for the Blue Ocean. When first saw it at the bookstore, he thought of Alexis's love for ocean books. And once he saw the beautiful smile on her face, he knew that he had made the right choice."Are you two going to come inside...or continue to play suck face out here?" Michael commented. Alexis sticks her tongue out at him, and he laughs.

They all go inside and head to the living room, where they find Allen reading some files. Closing the file, he turns to look at them before getting off the couch and walking towards them.'So my little girl's mate is an Atlantean. And not just any regular Atlantean, but the freaking King of Atlantis.' Allen sighed as he stared at the burly man with his arm protectively wrapped around his daughter's waist. 'Our little girl's so much like you, Sam.' He thought sadly. Realizing that now wasn't the right time to dwell on sad thoughts, he looked at Arthur and introduced himself. "Allen Winters, Alexis's father," Allen said, extending his hand.

"Arthur Curry," Arthur said, shaking Alexis's father's hand. Roughly squeezing the other man's hand, Allen showed him that he wasn't somebody that he wanted to piss off. 'For Alexis's sake, I'll try to behave, but I can already tell that her old man doesn't like me very much.' Arthur thought as Allen let go of his hand. Alexis knew that her dad was trying to intimidate her mate, which annoyed her a lot because he promised her that he'd be on his best behavior. 'If Dad doesn't behave, Alexis is going to be royally pissed.' Michael thought as he worriedly glanced at his sister.

Alexis walked over to the couch and sat with Arthur on the other side, holding her hand. "Tell me a little about yourself, Arthur," Allen asked, sitting in his favorite chair. Giving his hand a comforting squeeze, Alexis gave her boyfriend a reassuring smile, and he smiled back before looking at Allen. "There's nothing to tell; I'm only a simple fisherman," Arthur said vaguely, but Alexis's father didn't believe him. "Lexi, Michael, could you two go to the garage and bring two boxes of my favorite beer?" Allen asked his children, who nodded before they left.

After Alexis and Michael left, Arthur felt the awkward mood in the room quickly become serious. "Let's cut to the chase, shall we? I know who you are, Arthur Curry, King of Atlantis. And to be honest, I don't like you." Allen said bluntly as his once calm demeanor suddenly changed to deadly serious as he continued to speak, "I don't find you worthy of my little girl. Nor do I approve of you being Alexis's mate. But because you make my daughter happy, I won't ask you to stay away from her because I know you won't."

Allen saw Arthur's body relax and heard him sigh in relief. "I assume that she has already told you what she is?" Allen said, and Arthur nodded before hearing him say, "Did she also tell you that she's of royal blood?" Seeing the confused look on the other man's face, Allen said, "I guess that she forgot to tell you. Well, I'm King of the Ice Wolves, which makes my children the princes and princess of Ice Wolves." Arthur couldn't believe what he was hearing; his girlfriend was royalty. 'She has a lot of explaining to do later.' He thought as he scratched the back of his neck.

"I know it's a lot to take in, but if you have any questions, now is the time to ask them." Allen calmly says to the burly man. There were so many questions that Arthur wanted to ask Alexis's dad, but he ended up saying, "Alexis told me that she was a Hybrid." Allen leaned forward in his favorite chair, and he looked at Arthur. "Alexis and her brothers are hybrids. Back then, it was looked down on for the two species to procreate when we were fighting each other. Even to this day, it's still looked down on. Their mother, Samantha, and I were the perfect example."
