Chrissy's P.O.V.

I woke up from sunrays wandering through the curtains, causing me to take 5 minutes to strech extensively, mixed with dying-whale noises. As every morning, I unlock my phone to check time and date, which I pretty much always forget - one disadvantage of dropping out of school.

And all of the sudden, the excitement hit me. I jumped out of my bed in speed of light, shocking the hell out of Stella, and rushed into the bathroom to take the quickest of all quick showers. Afterwards I applied my usual make up (some concealer, winged eyeliner and mascara), dried my hair and opened my wardrobe.

Luckily I had chosen my outfit a few days ago already. I slipped on my underwear, some black socks that reached up above my knee, ripped denim shorts, a black tank top and an olive-coloured vest. Then I added my usual stack of colourful bracelets. I checked my appearance in a full length mirror beneath the appartment door after chucking on some black boots.

Two minutes later the buzzing sound of my neighbours doorbell echoed through the floor - Mrs. Fields, who promised to take care of Stella over the next two weeks.

"Alright baby girl, I will be home soon. Mrs. Fields will keep an eye on you, and don't you do something stupid, okay?" I said, kissing Stella between her ears. "Thank you very much, again." I then said to the woman in front of me. "You're welcome. Good luck, Chrissy!" she shook my hand and I blustered down the stairs right after she closed her door.

The hooter of Will's van made me increase the speed. Seconds later I pulled the car door to the left and hopped in, taking a seat between Joe and Dan. Will sat on the drivers seat. "Hey boys! Ready to rock out? This is gonna be amazing, I'm telling you!" I exclaimed, clearly showing my excitement.

"Actually I'm rather scared since we're still a pretty shitty band." Joe joked, but I shushed him immediately. "Alright, so did you bear everything in mind? Are the instruments in the trunk?" I asked.

"Check."

Our normally so chaotic band seemed to get everything right today.. So far, so good... The ride took us about 3 hours and we spent most of it jamming out to All Time Low albums, talking about the gig and some of us (me) getting some more sleep.

I felt a hand shaking my left shoulder, which caused me to wake up. "Dude, we're here." The voice made me identify the hand as Will's. "I don't mind you calling me dude, but you know I'm still a girl right?" I laughed, then the excitement hit me again.

A gasp escaped from my mouth right after I got out of the car. It was actually bigger than I expected. People running around everywhere, tuning their instruments, doing the last practise, a ton of people filling the room for the audience, some other men who did some kind of a soundcheck, et cetera...

"Alright, how about you guys go set your instrument and I'll do the organisation stuff?" I asked, receiving nods as a response.

"Hey, welcome, please fill this formula, then I'll hand you the details and lists." a red haired woman said in an incredibly annoyed voice as I approached the counter.

Well alright then. I filled in the blanks asking for the band name, the number of musicians, etc, before placing the sheet in front of her. She took it and gave me a couple pages, chewing gum in a disgusting way.

I've never heard any of these names, since all of the performing bands were still pretty small and unknown. Reading 'Against The Current' on the sheet made my mouth curl up into a smile...I was still amazed by the fact that we'd be playing here today with a chance of achieving something really big.

All of the sudden the deafening sound of someone turning on the microphone echoed from the amplifiers. "WELCOME TO THE BATTLE OF THE BANDS EVERYONE! The first act is ready to go, so take a seat and let's get this party started!" the host of the show shouted into the cameras, introducing the first band.

When the first few acts finished, the host came back on stage, making a (way too) dramatic pause, before he started talking. "Now... are you guys ready to rock out?" he blurted out, making the crowd cheer. "Four guys... they moved here all the way from Australia... and now they're ready to do this so give it up for these boys!"

My jaw instantly dropped when I saw who ascended the stage.
