~ 1 year later ~

Chrissy's P.O.V.

I impatiently tapped my black painted nails on the vitreous surface in front of me, waiting for my shift to end. It's been a year and somehow I have managed to move on with my life. Thinking of the past, I remember how it all came crashing down within a second. As soon as we got back to California the band broke up, partly because Will had been accepted at some school of arts in Europe.

So here I am, during the summer semester of the University of California, affording student life by working in a coffee shop on the campus whenever I'm not taking music or psychology courses.

The digital clock on the cash register finally jumped to 4pm so I entered the staff room, took off my baby blue apron and replaced my work shoes with black vans. I ran my hand down my flowy tank top straightening out the fabric which went perfectly with the black washed up shorts I had on.

Waving a 'goodbye' to my co-workers, I stepped outside the front door and walked, aiming for my dorm room. About halfway across the campus my name echoed from the right so I turned around and saw the people I was lucky to call my friends during the past months. I chuckled and ambled over to the three of them.

First I was engulfed in a hug by Bethany. She was a little taller than me, had brown curls falling down her back and the most beautiful chocolatty eyes. We met in music course and became best friends pretty quickly. Along with Beth I met her boyfriend Toby. They were legit relationship goals and it was just the cutest thing to watch them.

And lastly there's Adam who is one of the most handsome boys I have ever seen. He was tall, had dark hair, icy green eyes and looked like he could lift a car with one hand - and of course, he was gay.

"How's work been?" Toby asked, leaning his elbows on the bench he was sitting on - Bethany on his lap. "Amazing!" I exclaimed, my voice dripping with sarcasm. "Awh cheer up, you're done for this week." Adam tried to turn my mouth into a smile with his hands. "Sorry guys, I got so much work to do for psychology course.. See you later, maybe?" I sighed. "Okay, see ya!" They shouted in unison as I made my way to my dorm room.

I unlocked the door and dropped my bag beneath the full lenght mirror before immediately rushing to my phone, which was plugged in the charge station. I slid the arrow across the screen and expectantly waited for my phone to signalize a new message, but nothing...

Ashton had pinky promised to skype call me today as we had very rare contact during the past weeks. Don't even get me started on the contact to Luke...

A disappointed sigh escaped from my mouth and I was about to put my phone back to charging when my screen lit up, showing Ash's name in big letters.

From Ashton: Hey Chrissy! Sorry I haven't texted you, but we had some sort of a gig in Sutherland. We're in our appartement now... Skype? x

From Chrissy: Get ready, I'm calling x

Three minutes later I had Ashtons head on the laptop screen and laughed at how he furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "Hello? Can you hear me? I can't see you, the screen is black..." he muttered and after I was done laughing I removed my thumb from the camera. "It's so funny when you get confused!" I chuckled, grinning at him.

"Why am I even friends with you?" he laughed as well.

"So, Chrissy how's it going on the westcoast?" he asked, attempting to form a W with his hand.

"It's alright.. Work is boring as hell but the music courses are cool and psychology is kind of interesting. How's things down there?" I questioned.

"Ohh it's cool! We have had some gigs and-" he was cut off by the door swinging open, revealing a girl. She had gorgeous blonde curls reaching down her back and she was wearing a sweater that seemed familiar to me. "Hey Ash, wanna come watch a movie with us?" she didn't seem to realize he was skyping me.

"Nah, thanks, maybe later!" he answered and with that she was out the door.

"I didn't know you had a girlfriend!" I exclaimed, clapping my hands together, but he immediately raised his eyebrows. "She's not my girlfriend!" he chuckled.

"Who's she then?" I questioned curiously. "Listen, Chrissy I gotta go, I just realized I have to pick up my sister from a friend... Call again sometime?"

"Uhhh sure... Bye, Ashton." I smiled at Ashton who waved back and hung up.

How weird was that... Who could she possibly be? A friend of theirs? Does Ashton try to hide something from me? After deciding it would be the best not to wreck my brain about that girl, I started to get ready for dinner with my friends, when someone knocked on my room door...
