As the hours passed by my eyelids began to droop, but I couldn't find sleep. I got as comfortable as I could on the damp concrete floor, but my worry kept me up.
I began to doze off when suddenly I felt something on my foot.
Startled, I let out a scream and stood up abruptly only to see a gnarled rat scurry away.
A groggy and half dressed Loki bulted Into the hallway.
"What is it?" He asked more crabby than worried.
"S-sorry it was just a rat. That and I can't sleep." I explained, a bit distracted by his bare skin.
"You've awoken me from my slumber for this?" Loki muttered letting out an annoyed sigh.
"Well sor-ry" I mumbled sarcastically "The least you could do is bring me a pillow or something. And do you know how uncomfortable it is to sleep in skinny jeans?"
"You could just take them off" loki suggested.
My face instantly reddened and I backed away until I was against the wall.
Loki smirked "I was only joking, dear. But you know, there are other ways to fall asleep than just to get comfortable."
"Like what?" I puzzled.
Loki smiled, but disappeared before saying a word. Then he spoke, his voice echoed around the room but didn't seem to have a source "let me show you"
Suddenly he was standing infront of me. He placed a hand on my forehead and I immediately felt dazed. My eyes drooped and I began to feel like I was falling. A pair of strong arms caught me and lowered me carefully to the ground. "Goodnight, dear." was the last thing I heard as I fell into a restful sleep.
I awoke to the same dimness I had fallen asleep in leaving me to wonder how long I had slept. My whole body ached from sleeping on the ground.
"How was your slumber?" Loki asked poking his head into the hallway.
"Ok." I complained eyeing his asguardian meal and clutching my stomach "Are you like ever gonna feed me or?"
"Why must you pester me with every little thing." Loki groaned. "Here, take this" he offered tossing me a small cube.
"Ah, may I ask what this is?" I wrinkled my nose as I squeezed it between my fingers.
"It's a food cube" Loki explained "Once you consume it, it gives you three days energy. Though it has no taste, it's quite nutritious."
"So I'm imprisoned by a madman who's threatening to destroy the world, but at least I'm eating healthy right?" I said sarcastically flashing him a fake smile then hesitantly eating the strange cube.
"First monster, now madman. Are you going to take back that insult as you did the one before?" Loki hissed.
"I meant what I said about you not being a monster, Loki. You just-"
"Hush now. That's enough lies for one morning don't you think?" Loki smiled.
"But I'm not-"
Before I could finish Loki interrupted me "you pity me because of my past, but there's no need. the choices I made myself were the ones that made me who I am today. Given your kind's nature you should probably hate me"
Flustered, I didn't say a word. Loki realized he had gotten his point across and swiftly exited the hallway.
"Um... Loki?" I called a few moments later.
"What is it now?" He asked angrily
"I kinda gotta go to the bathroom..." I said awkwardly.
"Fine" Loki said clearly annoyed, as he unlocked my cell. "Follow me"
I was surprised he didn't tie me up, but I didn't dare question it.
The secret base, I found out, was just a long hallway, consisting of four rooms and two cells.
As I finished my business, Loki stood by the door. I know it was to make sure it was so I didn't somehow escape, but it was still a bit uncomfortable.
"Uh, thanks" I offered.
"Just get back to your cell!" Loki grumbled, his eyes not meeting mine.
I wondered how many times I would have to go through that awkward scenario again.
