The next morning I awoke in worry. The more I thought about the deal I made with Loki the more I regretted it. I basically just allowed him to take control of eight planets, and kill everyone on those eight planets to make them his slaves. Nice.
I wondered how he was ok with killing billions- Maybe even trillions of innocent people... Er gods? Well, Gods, dwarves, demons, and plenty of other things. But no one is truly innocent. Maybe not. I definitely wasn't, not after I helped and maybe even fell in love with a villain. I wished I just took the chance to go home before I got into this mess..."That wall looks very interesting, dear" Loki grinned cutting me out of my thoughts.
I sighed, not bothering to respond.
"Whats the matter?" He said taking a seat on the bed next to me. "Rethinking our deal?"
"Our deal sucked" I grumbled, not wanting to meet his eyes.
He chuckled "let me tell you I was being very generous when we made that deal"
"I'm being serious. All I wanted was to be a hero. I guess I'm not doing a very good job huh?" I gave him a sideways glance.
This time it was his turn to look away "sometimes it's just easier to be the villain."
I bit my lip "Maybe, but how can you live with that?"
His expression softened "with what?"
"With being hated by everyone! With being ok with knowing you took lives... Many of them! With... Being such a-"
"A monster?"
"A big jerk was what I was going to say" I sighed sarcastically.
"Your more heroic than you give yourself credit for. You saved my life back there, did you not?" Loki scooted closer to me, resting a hand on my shoulder.
"I don't know, maybe I should have just left you there... I could have just flew back to earth and forgotten this ever happened but..."
"You didn't. Why?" His concerned eyes connected with mine.
I looked away, keeping silent.
"I meant what I said before, about how I felt about you." He murmured, his voice as soft as silk.
I bit my lip, fighting the urge to look at him "did you?"
Loki's eyebrows creased in concentration. I felt like like I did on Hel when Nidhogg was reading my mind, completely exposed. I felt him sifting thorough my mind, invading my privacy.
I immediately balled my hands into fists "Stop it!" I yelled anxiously.
"I know what your doing! Stop it!" I whimpered, my eyes wild with the bitter memory.Loki looked startled "I apologize" he sighed "I just-"
Anger filled my voice "you just what?"
"I-I wanted to see how you f-felt-" he stumbled with his words as his eyes met the ground.
"Oh" was all I could say, the anger in my voice was gone. I glanced away as I felt a blush began to form on my cheeks.
After a few minutes of awkward silence, a familiar alarm filled the hallways of the ship.
Loki stood quickly, sighing deeply "it seems that we're here"
As we passed the man with the beard I finally had the chance to ask him about him.
"Who's he?" I asked crossing my arms.
"You mean Odin?" Loki spoke as if it wasn't a big deal.
"You captured your own father?" I raised my eyebrows.
Loki frowned "hmm, yes I did. He was standing in the way between me and my plans, it's none of your business, dear." He nudged me forward without another word.
As we reached the control room Loki took my hand, then, we found ourselves in an empty street. We were somewhere downtown, it was around 11:00 at night and there was the fresh smell of rain on the pavement.
"I guess this is goodbye" I sighed sadly.
Loki sent me a small smile "not quite, let's take a walk."
His hand still clasped mine, but I didn't complain.
"I'm truly, truly, sorry about... Everything" there was a hint of pain in his voice. I could tell he was being sincere.
"It's okay, it was the best... And worst thing that ever happened to me." I giggled.
A sprinkle of rain ticked my nose. Loki held out his hand, then a small blue forcefield acted as an umbrella and covered us.
"I know this isn't the last you'll see of me" Loki assured.
"Well, I hope the next time I see you you won't be terrorizing earth with a giant army" I joked.
"A promise is a promise" he assured, nodding his head.
I blushed deeply "Right. Well, remember earlier when you told me about your feelings? I didn't really have a chance to respond and- um- I wanted to tell you that- maybe under different circumstances- uh- I wanted to tell you I kinda..." As struggled with my words, I decided to stop trying. I quickly gave him a soft kiss on the cheek.
Loki slowly stopped walking, I felt his hand that held mine tense slightly. "I'm going to miss you" he said in a husky whisper. He stared into my eyes for a long moment. Suddenly, his lips connected with mine. It was smoother than last time. His hands rustled with my hair and I wrapped my arms around his neck. I felt his tongue trace my lips and his heartbeat pick up speed. The kiss became desperate, a bit rougher, but I couldn't get enough of it.
Suddenly I was yanked harshly away from him. Handcuffs clasped my hands and I was thrown to the ground. Then, before I knew what was going on I was looking into the eyes of about a hundred SHIELD agents.
