Being an Avenger is hard. Not so much the part where aliens try to kill everyone (especially in New York), but the training. Oh my God.
Why was there so much training?

So there you were, boxing your ass off, when a block of wood goes flying past your head. You frustratedly huffed as you heard it fall to the floor behind you. Curious to see what idiot just threw that, you walked to the connected training room across from yours, peering in before walking through the door. Someone unfamiliar was sparring with Bucky, and losing. "Which one of you dicks threw that block of wood?"

The boy stopped fighting to look at you. "Who is that?" He mumbled. His being distracted gave Bucky the opportunity to slam him to the ground. Peter let out a groan, Buck victoriously grinning.

The boy raised his hand as he got up from the mat. "That would be me." You walked over to the two, standing in front of them. "But I'm not sorry, considering I just lost because of you." He walked over to the bench, squeezing water into his mouth from a bottle.

"No one told you to look at me." You snorted. "I guess I'm just that gorgeous." You said sarcastically, rolling your eyes.

"You really are." Bucky grinned.

You sent a playful wink his way, causing Peter to stare at you two in confusion. "Y-you guys are a thing?" He waved a finger in between you two.

You and Bucky exchanged looks, then burst out laughing. "Oh, never. He's like 100 years old!"

"She's like 3!"

You frowned. "I am not 3."

"And I'm not 100."

"Yeah, one year off. Whatever." You disregarded Bucky. "Nice chat! Don't throw shit at me please." You turned and walked back to your training room.

An hour or so later, you were still boxing. You'd been under a ton of pressure lately, what with being shown up by a spider boy, and this was a good outlet to release all of it. Apparently, you were so into punching the bag that you didn't hear when Bucky entered the room. "y/n?" You turned to him, body covered in sweat and your arms begging for you to give up.

Something seemed to be on his mind, so you walked over to him. "What's up?"

He leaned against a pole, arms crossed against his chest with a teasing smile playing on his lips. "I gotta run, do you mind sparring with Peter?"

You took your gloves off and threw them inside of your bag, squinting at Buck. It was odd that he needed to 'run' so randomly, but you obliged nonetheless, shrugging. "Alright."

He picked your bag up for you, walking beside you to the other room. "Don't go too hard on him, y/l/n." He whispered as he set your bag down on the floor. "He's new to all this."

You pat his metal arm. "Will do." He eyed you, cocking an eyebrow. "I swear!"

With a laugh, he called out. "Peter!" The boy lifted his head up, nodding at Buck and getting up from the bench. "y/n here will be sparring with you for the rest of today."

He scrunched his eyebrows. "And why is that?"

"Because I said so." Bucky said in a stern voice.

Peter's eyes widened, afraid that he had angered the Winter Soldier. "O-okay."

You stifled a laugh from beside him, finding it hilarious how he cowered down to Bucky. "Bye James!" You waved as he walked away, him looking over his shoulder to send you a little smile.

You turned around with a grin, clapping your hands. "Let's go." You made your way towards the mat, Peter shortly behind. You got into your fighting stance and narrowed your eyes at the boy, intimidating him. "Show me what you got." And he did. Though it wasn't the best, it was something you could work with. A few minutes in, you could tell that he wasn't giving his all, so you decided to whip out your skills and do what you did best: play mind games. A little taunting never hurt anybody.

"How is your name Spider-man, huh?" You asked, circling him. "You're not a man, you're a boy. A little boy who doesn't-" And then the wind was knocked out of you. Peter had thrown you down onto the mat, his arms pinning yours above your head. His mouth was slightly open as he panted, sweat dripping down the sides of his face. He looked really hot.

Peter looked down at you expectantly, as if waiting for you to praise him. You didn't deliver.

"Decent."

At hearing this, he became furious. He let your arms go and stood up. "C'mon!" He shouted. "I've been working my ass off today, and you just continually put me down!" You got onto your feet, crossing your arms and waiting for him to end his rant. "You're supposed to motivate me to become better, not call me names and all this crap."

You let out an exhausted sigh. "Peter, you were the first 'young avenger.' You're basically Tony's kid. You're Spider-man. You get enough praise from everyone on the team and the world. So, no, I won't be giving any to you. Because you don't fucking need it."

He shut his eyes, hanging his head low. "Fuck," He whispered under his breath. "I'm sorry." He apologised, looking up at you. "I've just been stressed lately, I-I didn't mean to take it out on you. You're very generous for agreeing to train me." Peter couldn't help but stare at his shoes again.

You shrugged nonchalantly. "Not like it's hard." He smiled at your teasing. "C'mon," You nodded over to the centre of the gym mat. "Let's keep going."

He paused for a second, then opened his mouth to start speaking, but closed it.

"What?" You curiously asked.

"I-" He walked closer to you, putting his hands on your face. "I just wanna try something." When he pulled your face to his, you didn't know what to do right away. Your body was stiff for a split second, but then your awkwardness went away. His lips were so soft it should be illegal.

"I told you I could get them to sleep together!" Bucky exclaimed to Clint, not realising that he'd just yelled his sentence instead of whispering.

You and Peter jumped away from each other, stunned from everything that had just occurred.

"Wait," Everyone looked to you. "Did you make a bet on me, Barnes?" You asked, a hint of anger in your tone.

He shook his head. "No, I made a bet on you and Peter." He grinned, high-fiving Clint.

You growled and searched the room for something to throw at him. Funnily enough, you found another block of wood sitting on the floor. You picked it up and hurled it his way, purposely hitting his right arm.

"Ow!" Bucky whined, rubbing where he got hit and simultaneously glaring at you. Yours and Bucky's friendship was a blast.

"Where did that wood come from?" You asked Peter, who was standing beside you now.

He scrunched his eyebrows in thought, asking himself the same question.
"I, I don't really know."
