2: Distractions

*Later in the Griffindor girls' dormitory.*

"-and then he picked up my books for me!"

Ginny: Hmm... That's odd. Maybe he's had a change of heart?

"What do you mean Ginny?"

Ginny: Maybe he's changed for the better? Maybe he's not a retarded badass we think he is?

"Ginny, this is Malfoy we're talking about here! Draco Malfoy?! Slytherin Prince?! Death Eater?! He's been nothing but horrible to me since our first year!"

Ginny: Trust me Hermione, I know. But what if he did change? Would you ever change your opinion of him?

"I don't know... It would take a very drastic change... Just don't tell Harry or Ron what happened, okay?"

Ginny: Why not?

"It might just make them want to get in a fight with Malfoy or something."

Ginny: All right! I won't tell them... I hate it when they get into fights...

*Hermione checks the time.*

"Sorry Ginny, I have to return my books before the library is closed!"

Ginny: Okay. I'll see you later then?

"You bet!"

*Hermione is on her way back to the Gryffindor common room. She suddenly hears two people arguing, so she hides.*

A familiar voice: It's over Pansy. I'm done with you!

Another voice: Please Draco! Just give us another chance!

It's Draco and Pansy! Oh wait- they're breaking up? Wait... what?!

Draco: I'm sick and tired of you! All you ever do is pout and whine whenever you don't get your stupid way! Not to mention you cheated on me with Crabbe! Crabbe, of all people!

Pansy: But Draco, that was a long time ago-

Draco: Don't give me that bullshit! I saw you together last week!

Wow! This is the first time I'm eavesdropping... This is so fun!- But I really need to get going before I'll get caught out after hours... Should I just walk in their argument or something?...

Pansy: I made a mistake! It meant nothing to me! Crabbe never meant anything to me! I love you Draco, you know that...

Draco: Well I don't love you! Never had and never will!

Pansy: Don't say that Draco, you don't mean that. Lets just take you back to the common room and-

Draco: Yes I do! I could never love you Pansy because... I'm in love with someone else!

Pansy: What?! What do you mean you're in love with someone else?! You've been cheating on me, haven't you!

Draco: No! Of course I wouldn't cheat on you!

Pansy: Who is it then?! Millicent Bulstrode? 'Cause she can't keep her eyes of you!

Draco: What the bloody hell are you talking about?!

Pansy: It's Blasie, isn't it? You two have always been too close...

Draco: Blasie? What the hell Pansy! I'm not gay!

Pansy: Who is it then, Draco?

Draco: Why would I tell you? You're worth nothing to me.

Pansy: but- you don't mean that..

Draco: Yes I do! Now stay away from me, you coward! I want nothing to do with you anymore!

*Pansy runs away, crying.*

Draco: Show's over, Granger. I suggest you get back to your common room before you're caught out after hours.

*Draco walks away brushing his hair back with his fingers, smiling... again.*

How did he know I was there?

*Ginny, Harry and Ron were waiting for Hermione in the common room.*

Ginny: There you are!

*Ginny jumps out the couch and hands Hermione a letter.*

Ginny: This just came for you!

"Do you know who's it from?"

Harry: I'm afraid not, it got sent by the school's owl.

Ginny: Go on Hermione! Read it!

*Hermione clears her throat and reads the letter out loud.*

My dearest Hermione,

I haven't been able to get you off the mind all day. I actually got a detention because of it. But it's worth it... you're worth it. Don't ever change, Hermione. You are my forever, I am always yours.

Ron: Well, well! Looks like someone has a secret admirer...

"It's not from you, right?"

Ron: Why would I send you a love letter? We've been over for a while... I've moved on!

"I know Ron, I'm sorry. I'm just worried that this is some kind of joke."

Ginny: Oh come on Hermione! The guy got a detention for you!

"So he says..."

Ginny: Maybe you should write back and ask him to meet you somewhere?

"Maybe..."
