Chapter 8: Deaf

Emerson's POV:

"Emerson!"

I opened my eyes to see Seven hovering over me.

"Hmmm," I said sleepily.

"We have to take her to get clothes and then go to school,"he replied.

I shifted seeing a dead asleep Lily layin on top of me. She looked so cute I almost didn't want to wake her.

"She won't wake up,"Seven explained.

I stood up and let her slide onto the bed. Going to my closet I changed and then looked at Seven.

"Okay. Head down stairs and start my car I'll wake her up and bring her down."

With a slight nod he left the room taking my keys off the night stand with him.

I tapped Lily's shoulder,"Wake up Lily."

She only moved a bit so I tried again, "Lily time to get up and go get clothes."

She rolled over for that one.

Leaning down I grabbed her face and kissed her hard. Her eyes snapped open and she pulled away.

"Come on were going to your house."

She stood wiping the sleep from her eyes. I yawned stretching my arms.

Following me she went down the stairs. As we came down I heard the front door open and a bunch of unfamiliar scents came wafting in.

I gripped Lily close to me and then when I saw unfamiliar faces pushed her behind me.

My parents were talking to them and I listened.

"Our daughters missing and we have no idea where she is," the man said.

"Oh what's her name I'll check with the pack members," my mother replied.

I could feel Lily behind me. She climbed up on my back as if I was going to give her a piggy back ride.

The lady saw me then shouted, "Lilifret!"

Feeling Lily stiffen I growled taking a step back away from them. Who were these people?

The people came towards me and Lily got off my back.

I held her firmly in front of me, growling as they came closer.

"Lilifret you are in so much trouble your mother was so scared," the man said.

Woow they were her family.

Lily said nothing like always.

"We're going home ," her mother said.

Lily shook her head and grabbed my arm securely.

"Who are you," her mother asked incredulously.

"Emerson Strike ma'am. I'm going to be alpha."

Her eyebrows raised and I nodded as if to tell her I wasn't lieing.

"Come on Lil just come home your still wearing your clothes from yesterday," a boy said. I assume it's was her brother.

She looked at me with a face that was torn between two. I knew she had to go with her family but she wanted to stay with me so I kissed her head smiling.

"You were going to go home either way," I told her brushing a piece of hair behind her eye.

She looked sad then hugged me tightly.

I hugged her back and she wrote on her notepad putting it in my hand.

I read, Bye I'll see you at school.

"Okay see you at school, but please just speak I don't understand why you don't." I needed to hear her voice.

"Young man why do you know our daughter," I'm guessing her dad said.

"I'm her mate," I replied.

"Well then why don't you know about her condition," he continued swiftly.

I looked at Lily she had her head down. She seemed so sad.

"Condition?"

She looked up at me then looking back and forth at both me a her father.

"Lily? Lily why don't you tell him or do I have to."

She just stared at he father with pleading eyes.

"My daughter is deaf," he finished to me.

No she wasn't. How?

There is no way she is deaf.

I looked at Lily and she had tears coming out of her eyes. She wiped furiously at them.

Her being deaf would explain everything. It really would.

Why she never answered me when she wasn't looking at me.

Lily looked so upset it made my wolf whine.

Pulling Lily to me I bent my head to her level.

"I don't care if your deaf. I won't reject you if that's what you think."

She smiled sadly into my chest looking up a bit.

"Okay," I said lifting her chin to look at me.

She nodded yes.

"Now you have to go home cause I'll get in trouble if you don't," I told her.

Nodding slowly she started to sign.

"I don't know what your saying," I said wishing I did.

Sighing she frowned then turned to I the same guy that had spoken earlier, her brother.

He signed and she signed back.

"Well we will see you later," her father said.

Lily turned and waved bye and I waved back.

I felt my fathers hand on my shoulder,"Go to school we will talk later."

Seriously.

I marched out of the house and to my car where Seven was waiting.

"Where's Lily," Seven asked taken aback.

The real question was how had he not seen them just leave out the front door.

"She went home now lets go to school," I said hopping in the driver's seat.

"Come on get in," I yelled from the window.
