Deaf And In Love

Chapter 19

Emerson's POV

The car ride was silent for the most part. I knew I was being a little mean but my dad had nagged me about this all month.

Lily crawled on my lap and then kissed me on the lips. I kissed her back. I wasn't worried about getting into a car accident because my reflexes were very good.

Pulling into the driveway I turned the engine off. Leaning back into the car I grabbed my rain coat for me to put over the both of us.

I stepped out of the car with Lily in my arms and made a run for the front door with the jacket shielding us from most of the rain.

As I sprinted to the door I saw it open and I ducked through it.

"Look who's finally here," one of the alphas in training said. "Ya bout time!"

I shook my damp hair out and set Lily down. Then I put my jacket on the hook.

Lily looked nervous but I grabbed her hand and pulled her along with me. The soon to be Lunas weren't suppose to be here but if they were already fully mated or in heat or whatever they were allowed.

As I walked to sign us in I saw only 2 two other wolves that brought their mates.

Signing both of our names on the clip board I turned to see everyone mingling. I honestly wasn't in the mood so I just guided Lily to one of the couches.

Sitting down I said through mind link,"We're just gonna mingle for a while then we can leave okay."

"Okay." She replied not looking at me but at one of the group's of guys talking.

I was wondering if she could see what they were saying. "There talking about you stupid."

"I'm sorry I can't read lips like you," I replied in her head. I kept forgetting to block my thoughts off.

"Why is there something you don't want me to hear Emerson," she snickered in my brain.

I shook my head no and then nuzzled my nose on her mark and mumbled in her head,"I'm sorry."

Sighing Lily took my hand and continued reading the guys lips.

"They think your cool and wanna come over and talk to you but they think your busy with me," Lily told me.

I snorted and looked at the group. They were a bit younger but there were a few my age.

"You should go talk to them," she mumbled into my mind.

I squeezed her hand and stood up pulling her with me over to the Alphas.

"Hey what packs are you guys from," I said putting my one hand out to shake theirs.

They said their packs and we were having a good time just talking about Alpha stuff or mates.

Lily was quiet at my side not even talking through mind link. She just watched as we spoke.

A few of the alphas kept watching Lily and I would give them looks and they would cast their eyes down.

I felt Lily's hand grasp my arm come a lot closer. Looking down I saw she staring at an Alpha in the corner.

He was one of the Alphas in training that was very mean. Clark was very cruel as was his father.

They were one of our allies but we didn't really trade or socialize with them as much.

"Can we go somewhere else I don't like the way that guy keeps looking at us."

I nodded turning to walk the other way until I heard Clark say,"Emerson come over here and talk to me."

Lily gave me pleading eyes but I had to talk to him because we were allies. Clark knew that as well.

Turning I practically dragged Lily with me. I don't want to bring her over here but I'm not leaving her alone.

"Hello Clark."

"Sit down with your beautiful mate Emerson. And your name is sweety," he said smiling at Lily.

Of course Lily didn't reply but Clark took it as being rude. Glaring now at Lily he said,"Now did Emerson teach you to be rude."

All of a sudden I was bumbared with Lily screaming at him but through my head.

I looked at how her face was framed with pure hatred.

"Don't speak to her Clark," I growled.

Chuckling slightly he brushed me off and turned walking away. I hated him.

"Come on," I said out loud to Lily.

Storming over to the couch we had previously been sitting on I sat her down and went to go confront Clark alone outside.

Standing under the porch Clark lit a cigarette. I closed the door and stood in the silence. The only thing that could be heard was the pouring rain.

"So Emerson why is your mate so rude?" Clark said pulling his cigarette from his mouth.

Snarling loudly I ripped the cigarette put of his mouth and throwing it in the rain.

"She's deaf you asshole."

Clark sighed in annoyance and pulled another cigerette out. He lit it and took a hit n fore saying,"Well that makes sence."

We stood there without speaking. The door behind me opened and I turned to see Lily sticking her head out the door.

Smiling slightly and motioned for her to come over. Lily came over and I grabbed her by the waist kissing the top of her head.

"Can we go home," she muttered in my head.

I nodded and said good bye to Clark. Grabbing my jacket I pulled over both of us and ran to the truck.

Lily fell asleep in the car on the way back to the pack house and I pulled one of the blankets I left in the car.

Once we pulled into the driveway I carried her into the pack house. I walked through the living room and saw Seven sitting there with his mate.

Willow lifted her head from his lap. She smiled at me,"Hey."

"Hey guys," I murmured sitting down and cradling Lily in my lap.

Seven smirked and started to play with Willow's hair. I turned to the tv to see that they were watching some action movie.

There were some other pack members on the couches and floor watching it too. A few I recognized and some I've seen but have no clue what there names are.

It was a good movie but Lily passed out. I mean she liked movies but they activated her because she had to lip read and people didn't speak clearly.

She especially hated action.

Picking her up I had put her to bed and came back down to hang out with Seven and the rest of them.

We were hanging out and having fun for a while until I felt an overwhelming feeling of fear. It was coming from Lily. Jolting up I got to my room.

Lily was tossing and turning asleep. She was having a nightmare. I pulled her into my lap and started to stroke her hair.

She didn't wake up but she did calm. After she was calmed down I laid next to her falling asleep.
