Emerson POV:

I was having a great time at dinner.

Lily's brothers were great. There family wasn't the usual annoying switching pack family.

All of a sudden Cooper grabbed Lily's arm and pulled her outback.

I wanted to know what was going so I followed behind them.

I stood at the door and watched them fight well kinda fight.

Lily signed something and she began to cry.

I opened the door and grabbed her in my arms she snuggled into my chest.

She was blubbering some words I don't think would make sense even if she could speak.

"Its okay,"I murmured even though she couldn't hear me as I rubbed her back.

"Hey uh Emerson take care of my little sister," Cooper said rubbing his neck.

I gave him a small nod with a smile.

Cooper went inside and Lily slowly looked up through tear stained eyes.

She signed something but I didn't understand.

Her shakey hands took out a piece of paper and she scribbled a sloppy note down.

I hate myself and you should too.

"Don't sa-write that,"I stuttered almost telling her not to say that.

I wiped her tears away and hugged her tightly then pulled her back.

"I'm going to teach you how to speak and it will be as if you could hear okay so stop moping," I said this sternly and grabbed her hand tightly.

We sat out on the patio just looking at the dimming sky. She laid her head on my shoulder.

"Emerson can you tell Lilifret were leaving in a few minutes," Lily's mother asked.

I nudged Lily,"Hey you gotta go home in a few."

Lily looked sad.

"But 9 remember."

Smiling a bit she nodded.

Before she stood up I leaned over and kissed her hard on the lips.

She looked stunned then it was if she was melting into the kiss. All her muscles unclenched.

It felt so good and I didn't want to pull away, but I had to. She looked so happy.

Standing she bolted for the door and I followed. I watched as she signed to her brother. He chuckled and turned me giving me a nod.

I watched as they all left.

Finally it was 8:30.

Grabbing my keys I slowly opened my door and looked down the dark hall. No one was there.

I quickly jogged down the hall way and made it to the stairs with no one seeing me.

It's not that I wasn't allowed out I just didn't feel like getting questioned.

Looking left I checked again. the hallways empty.

"Good," I murmured to myself.

Looking right I jumped almost tripping.

Seven was just in boxers squinting at me like I was insane.

"Wow man you can't just sneak up on people like that," I said composing myself.
