Chapter 14: Tired

Lily's POV

After Emerson marked me I was so tired. I had wanted him to mark me so we couldn't be separated by my parents but I really didn't know what happens after that.

My parents never told me and only one of my brothers has marked their mate.

I'm not sure why the others haven't.

I fell asleep in Emerson's arms but woke up later to see Emerson was gone.

I went to stand but my legs turned to jello collapsed onto floor.

Emerson came running out of the bathroom only in a towel.

"Are you okay?"

I nodded.

He picked me up off the floor and sat me on the bed.

"You know after your marked you barely have any energy. It takes a lot out of you."

Oh was all I mouthed.

Smirking he gave me a peck on the lips and went back into the bathroom.

When he was done he had on army pants and black shirt with boots.

I rubbed my eyes and yawned again.

"Go to sleep if your tired baby. "

I shook my head no.

"Why?" He asked.

I lifted my arms so he'd pick me up.

"Okay fine but I'm going to a bunch of meetings today. So you sleep but you can be in my lap," he said giving in.

I clapped my hand and got up quickly.
My legs collapsed again.

"Wow wow wow there I'll get you some clothes."

He handed me my clothes and I changed.

He lifted me up and we started for his first meeting. I fell asleep quickly.

Emerson's POV

I came in and sat at my chair positioning Lily on my lap.

No one questions it. Many wolfs did this when there mates we in heat or just marked.

They began the meeting and Lily shifted in my lap.

"Emerson what do you think about the new family and them coming into the pack?"

I looked up.

"Well in the case that my mate is from that new family I'd very much like them to join," I replied.

They all look at me then down at Lily.

Sevens dad, our current Beta, nodded and my dad walked in through the door apologizing for being late.

I looked at Seven who was texting and nudged him to stop.

He slid his phone into his pocket and the meeting continued.

By the second meeting Lily woke up and she tapped my face.

Lifting my eyebrows she signed something under the table.

"I don't understand,"I mumbled.

Her stomach growled.

Nodding I told her to wait.

My dad started talking about packs and then to me about when I become alpha and what not.

"Dad I have to take L-" my dad cut me off.

"Its rude to interrupt."

Lily stomach growled again.

I looked down at her and gave me a now look.

My father just continued and Seven said through mind link,"I can take her to get some food."

"Mine," I replied under my breath.

"Fine what ever," he mumbled.

As this went on my father was oblivious to what was going on and continued.

I listened to him and nodded along.

The entire time Lily was moving in my lap. Then suddenly she smacked on the floor.

Luckily I was still holding her with one hand so she didn't hit to hard.

The entire table of wolves turned and looked at me and Lily on the floor.

"Shit Jesus. Ugh," I cursed.

I picked her up and stood setting her on my hip like I always do.

"Dad uh I'll be right back I gotta get Lily something to eat," I told him and turned walking out.

Seven followed close behind me.

"Lily I already told you. You don't have much strength after you've been marked."

"You marked her!" Seven exclaimed.

I nodded slightly looking down at Lily whose head was in the crook of my neck.

Sighing I took her into the kitchen. I saw Liam eating at the counter. Glaring at him I went towards the fridge.

I rubbed my nose on Lily's mark making her jump and look at me.

"What do you want," I asked.

She didn't point or sign anything just put her head on my shoulder tiredly.

"I'll make you a sandwich," I mumbled knowing she wouldn't hear me.

Grabbing what I could with one hand I put it on the counter and started making it.

I couldn't make the sandwich with one hand.

"Man I'll take her so you can finish the sandwich," Seven said to me.

I didn't want to let her go but I couldn't make a sandwich with one hand.

I handed her to Seven but she wouldn't let my arm go.

"Lily I have to make you a sandwich. I can't do it with one hand," I said making sure she could see me speak.

She let Seven hold her but Lily's hand never left my arm.

I finished the sandwich and I took her back.

Handing her the sandwich she started to eat it in small bites.

When she finished she smiled a bit.

"Better now?"

She nodded yes.

"Okay then can we go back to the meeting," I asked her.

She shook her head no and yawned.

"Do you want me to put you in the living room and then come back when the meeting is over?"

Giving me a thumbs up I brought her into the living room and handed her the remote.

Smiling a bit she burrowed into the blanket.

I kissed her on the forehead like always and asked Jessy if he could watch her.

I would have asked Seven but he was going to be in the meeting with me.
