After reading the storyline through again, I decided to get my lazy butt round to doing some productive work on existing stories! So here is chapter 13, thanks so much for the support you've given me on this, I nearly died when I read how many reads there were! Oh and by the way, my room is now mostly inhabbited by an enderman, a creeper, a zombie, a mini steve and a little sheep! I know it's a very random thing to mention but I will be putting up a picture of my minecraft collection on deviant art if you want to see it! Okay that's all!!!!!

I ran out of the house as soon as I'd managed to phone the ambulance, they were now taking her to the local hospitale. I jumped into my car and drove like a mad man, nobody stopped me. I arrived at the same time as the ambulance, I watched in horror as her lifeless body was removed from the back of the ambulance and manuorvered into the A&E department door. I ran in after her. I was temporarily blinded by the luminesant lights and when I could see again, the stretcher, along with Alice, was no where in sight.

I calmly walked up to reception, waiting for the nurse to notice me. She looked up.

"Can I help you?" She asked.

"Yes, a girl came in here a second ago. Attempted sucicide?" I said, my voice wavering slightly. The nurse looked at me sympathetically.

"Yes, it's tragic. Poor mite, starved half to death and then she goes and does that. She's in theater at the moment for emergency surgery."

"Thanks."

I decided to  wait in the cold reception, waiting for news on Alice. I wondered if she did it because of Duncan or maybe Hannah? Oh God, what if it was because of me? I quickly pushed those stupid ideas out of my head, Alice would never kill herself because of us. Would she? I kept thinking about these questions until a hand was placed on my shoulder. I jumped and looked up.

Hannah and Lewis was stood infront of me, Hannah's eyes were red and puffy and Lewis look pale. Hannah hugged me and I hugged back. We didn't need to say anything, why would we? We both knew that Alice's life was in danger and that she was mentally unstable. We all sat there in silence, keeping our thoughts quiet and dull. A few hours later, a shadow fell over us three. We all looked up and saw it was a doctor, Hannah bit her lip and Lewis hugged her tightly. We all held our breath.

"Is Alice a friend of yours?"

"Yes."

"She'll live, she's had a blood transfusion from herself!" The doctor chuckled, we looked confused and he explained.

"Her parents got her to donate blood every year, in case it was needed. They are dead now but their forward way of thinking has saved her life."

Hannah and I smiled, letting go of the breath we'd been holding. Even Lewis look revlieved, the doctor waved for us to follow him and we obeyed. He led us to the childrens ward, right to the emd with the windows. Several teenagers sat there, eyes either glued to the small moniters that served as a computer or staring off out of the window. Some turned their gazes to us as we walked through, one or two turned up noses in distaste, while most looked at us with sympathy. Right next to the window, the  cubicle curtain was drawn. We waited outside of it as the doctor pulled back the curtain.

Lewis held Hannah in that moment, she teared up and I gasped. What we saw shocked us.

Alice layed there, tubes sticking out of her arms and also a catheter. Hannah broke down when she saw the thick bandages that covered Alice's wrists and we all teared up when we noticed her ribs sticking out from under the thin hospitale gown. It was the first time we'd seen her like this, so fragile and cold. I quietly walked up the bed, my hands shaking. I placed my hand on her stomach, feeling the steady rise and fall of her breathing. Hannah walked round to the opposite side of the bed and gently held Alice's hand. She started sobbing and Lewis came around and held her. The doctor walked off, leaving to file paperwork or something. The curtain into the next cubicle was drawn back, though the front curtain offered us some privacy.

We stayed there for hours, just mumbling nonesence to Alice whilst she healed. We were forced out by the matron when the visiting times were over for the day. Lewis nodded to me, a silent arangement to come back tomorrow. I nodded my thanks and we parted. Hannah and Lewis walking towards their car and I towards mine. Once I had gotten into the familier interior of my volvo. I let the tears run, too sad to even think about anything else than the limp body of my friend. I stayed like that, in the dark, alone and cold, crying into the silence over the near miss with death that had happened.......
