Chapter 3

Elta's POV
I quickly got changed and opened the door. I found out Masky and his friend in the yellow hoodie were waiting for me. "Morning?" I said, a little confused. They both nodded and started walking. I followed them downstairs and into what looked like a kitchen and dining room. They took their seats while I stood awkwardly. "Hello child, my name is Slenderman, why don't you introduce yourself" the tall man at the front of the table stood and motioned to everyone. I smiled but I was kinda freaked out. "I-Okay....my name is Elta Alice Night but you guys can call me Elta." I said and they nodded. "Good now let me introduce everyone. You already know Jeff, Hoodie, Masky and Toby," he said pointing at the four boys "This is Clockwork, Jane, BEN, Sally, and Jack" he said pointing at the three adults and two children. I smiled and waved. "Now take a seat and eat up" he pointed at a seat next to Toby and.....Jeff. I sighed and sat down. I looked down and saw waffles then I looked around and saw syrup. I reached for it but a hand stopped me. "I was using it, you can ask before you grab it from me" Jeff said sounding annoyed while I only smirked. I snatched the syrup bottle and said "You broke into my home and tried to kill me, you could have asked and I would have happily let you in" I said sarcasm filling my tone. A few of the others laughed while Jeff growled. I smirked and poured the syrup onto my waffles then set it down in front of me and I took a bite. "Wow, these are really good! Who made them?" All eyes fell on Toby. "I-I did" he said with his little tick. I smiled "well they are delicious, thank you" I complemented and he just nodded a thanks. Once we were done eating Slenderman took me into a room that looked like an office. "Please take a seat Miss" he said I did as I was told. "So, I know Jeff attacked you with the intent to kill but failed. I apologize you had to live after that but seeing as you did you have to stay here." I stared in shock and he continued "You will be trained, follow all the rules we have and not run off and in exchange no one here will harm you or your father" I sighed happily knowing my father and I were safe. "Um...Slenderman?" He tilted his faceless head. "Yes child?" I contemplated before continuing "Thank you for letting me stay here" he only nodded before I walked out of the room. I shut the door and started to walk down the hall towards the stairs. Someone ran up the stairs as I was going down and we tumbled down. Once my back hit the floor I opened my eyes and looked up seeing Jeff's face only a few inches from mine. "J-Jeff!" I stuttered, and he looked confused as well "E-Elta!" He went to get off me but his hand grazed my chest and I kicked him off. "Watch it buddy!" I said jumping to my feet crossing my arms over my chest. "Ow! What the hell was that for!" I heard Clockwork and Jane laugh "dude you stuttered!" Ben said while Jack helped Jeff up. Jeff took a defensive stand and was about to give a detailed explanation on what happen but I just sighed "you should watch where your going, and where you put your hands!" I growled and he looked at me. Jane and Clockwork walked over. "Okay Hun, you need some new clothes and since it's dark out we can go shopping" Jane states as I look at her confused. "But all the stores are closed would we have to wait until-" Clockwork cut me off by grabbing my hand "that's where I come in" she says excited as she drags me out the door. Jane and I giggled and before you know it all three of us were walking down a street which held couples walking home, friends hanging out and teenagers sneaking out to have fun. I suddenly noticed some girls from my school. "EA? Is that you!" The blonde one named Hanna yelled and ran towards me. I stayed behind Jane and Clockwork who quickly put up their hoods. Hanna stopped right in front of us "excuse me but that's my friend" Hanna said looking at Jane and Clockwork with a hateful glare. "She is staying with us so whatever you have to say to her you can say to us" Jane responded and I smirked "Jane it's alright I don't mind this bitch being here" I heard Clockwork chuckle quietly and I pushed past them. "Hanna, you aren't and never were my friend, and the only reason you want to fucking talk to me is so you can bully me, like you did at school" I said crossing my arms and glaring at her. Jane grabbed my hand. "Elta, you ready to go?" She said and I nodded, as we walked away Hanna grabbed my free arm tightly. "GAH!" I screamed as her long and sharp nails cut through my skin. I tried to pull away but she wouldn't let go. "How dare you say those things to me you bitch!" Thats when someone stepped up behind her and set a knife to her throat. I heard the raspy voice and smiled as Hanna let go of my arm which was bleeding now. "How dare you insult her, and injure her" the raspy voice said and I heard Jane and Clockwork chuckle before Jeff dragged Hanna to the alley "finish shopping then meet me back here" he said before disappearing. "Lets go" Clockwork said grabbing my hand and leading me to a store. She looked around before grabbing the handle. It opened even though it was obviously locked. We walked in and before you knew it Jane and Clockwork were gone, flying through the store handing me outfits like it was the end of the world. I laughed at how excited they were and they even forced me to try on some of the outfits. Most of them I had to admit were cute but to colorful. Finally we came to an agreement on 5 shirts, 5 pairs of jeans, 2 dresses, a pair of heels, running shoes and a nice pair of earrings. Once we finished we went back to the alley and met up with Jeff. "Are you girls sure you got everything?" He asked while Jane, Clockwork and I looked at each other. "Oh no! I think I forgot to get Elta a nice panty and bra set!" Jane exclaims while I turned beet red. "L-Let's just go!" I said and grabbed my arm which was still bleeding a little. "Jane and Clockwork you two start heading back I need to talk to Elta." Jeff said and I looked at him a little concerned but the girls nodded and walked away, leaving Jeff and I there. "So.....what's up?" I asked a little awkward. "Elta dose your arm still hurt?" He asked looking at my arm which I only nodded as a response. He sighed and took off his shirt and wrapped it around where Hanna's nails had cut my skin. I looked away from him blushing a little bit. "There, just until we get back and EJ can look at it" he said and started walking away. I quickly ran up next to him and walked with him. "Thank you Jeff" I said while thinking to myself 'Am I starting to fall for him?'
Jeff's POV
After Elta told me her arm was still hurting I sighed and took off my shirt, wrapping it around the cuts on her arm. "There, just until we get back and EJ can look at it" I said walking away. I heard her run and catch up to me her foot falls lining up with mine now. I didn't look at her though I could feel her eyes on me. "Thank you Jeff" she said before going silent. As we walked we caught up to Jane and Clockwork. I saw Elta start to smile and laugh again. 'Her eyes lit up when she smiled and they practically glowed when she laughed. Her smile was so perfect and real.' I realized what I was doing 'hold on...am I falling for her?'
