Chapter 4

Jeff's POV
'Hold on...am I starting to fall for her' I asked myself looking at the girl who had escaped me. At first when I looked at her my anger flared but now all I feel is an actual smile creeping onto my face along with it heating up. She looked back at me and I looked away. Once back at the mansion Slenderman pulled me aside. "Jeffrey, could you do me a favor and start training Elta tomorrow" I stared and him in shock and thought 'This is my chance to get close to her and make up for what I did' I just nodded and said "sure, knives? Hand to hand? Any weapon?" I asked "let's start with hand to hand alright" I nodded and walked away looking for Elta. I found her at the top of the stairs at the door to her room now I guess. "Hey Elta, Be up at 5 and meet me in front of the house" I said as I walked past her but I stopped at my door. "And goodnight" I added before stepping into my room. I then plopped onto my bed and stared at the ceiling. I heard the others close their doors and soon enough everyone was asleep at least& so I thought. So after laying there in bed for a few hours I decided I would head down to the kitchen. I left my room but saw Elta's door open. I peeked in and saw no one in there. I started to panic but went down the stairs. I heard sobbing, that's not something you hear in this house. I waited at the bottom stair for a voice. "I went to counseling, I went to doctors, I took medicine but every time it comes back! Mom I'm sorry!" I heard Elta's voice ring through the quiet house but no one else woke up. I walked into the kitchen but stopped. "Elta? Why are you up?" I asked pretending I didn't hear anything. She turned around, tears running down her cheeks. "Elta, are you alright?" I asked and she nodded "I-I'm fine" she then turned away. I watched her body movements which told me she was defensive and hurting. I took a step closer to her not really knowing what to do. "Well, can you hand me a plate?" I asked changing the subject while she wiped her tears. She nodded and handed me a plate from in front of her. "What are you making?" She asked after a few moments and I just shrugged while walking over to the fridge pulling out some sandwich meat. "A sandwich I guess, want one?" I asked and she nodded "thank you" I quickly made two sandwiches and sat down next to her at the table. "So....why are you up this late?" I asked and she froze for a second before shaking her head "I just had a bad dream" she said before falling silent and eating her sandwich. I finished mine then looked at the clock on the wall. "It's 4:30, want to start your training?" I asked as she swallowed her last bite and handed me her plate. "Sure, what are we doing?" She asked while putting on her shoes "We are going to start with hand to hand combat" I saw her smirk as she turned and walked out the door.

Elta's POV
'Yes! Some alone time with Jeff!' I thought giggling to myself as I stood up. Jeff was going to start training me in hand to hand combat. I would say I know a little but that's over stepping it. All I basically know is how to dodge, punch and kick. I stepped outside and waited for Jeff who was actually right behind me. He walked me over to the side of the house and stood directly in front of me about 10 feet away. I looked at him trying to figure out what he was going to do. 'He going to head left' just as I heard that I moved to the right avoiding the punch. "Jeez your fast" I said before dodging another one of his punches. "Gotta speed up" he said 'Jump!' listening to the voice I jumped avoiding Jeff's kick which was supposed to knock me off my feet. "My turn" I mumbled running at him. 'Slide, he's expecting the punch' I slid and that caught him off guard. I grabbed his leg as I slid under him knocking him to the ground. He stood quickly just as I did. "You're pretty good" he said before running at me again. I swung but he caught it and twisted my arm behind my back. "Gah!" I yelled at the sudden pain 'should have gone with a kick'. He smirked and pinned me to the ground. "Give up?" He asked but I wasn't giving up that easy. I used my free arm to push myself up and him off. I spun around and kicked him square in the jaw 'Good move' A voice said as I heard from Jeff, "Ah fuck that hurt!" He said holding his jaw while I held my arm. "Yeah that's for twisting the arm Hanna stabbed" I said smiling before walking over and reaching out my hand. He took it and I pulled him to his feet. "I twisted that arm, sorry" he said actually sounding sincere. He gave me a quick smile "hey look behind you" he said and I turned around. "I don't see-" I got cut off as I turned around and I got pinned against a tree. I growled as my back hit the tree. "Haha, I never said I give up" he pushed me against the tree harder and I just giggled before raising my right foot slightly rubbing against his inner leg. "E-Elta? What" I rose my foot a little more and he started to blush. That's when I struck, I wrapped my leg around his and pulled forward forcing him to release his grip on me as he fell back. I took this opportunity to pin him down. Though I knew I couldn't keep him down with just my arms so I actually sat on his chest keeping him down. "I never said I gave up either" I smirked and I saw a hint of red on his cheeks. "Your better than pretty good, I give up" he said. I smiled "good" i said while trying to get up, something had a hold of my foot and I ended up falling back down hovering over Jeff. "Um...." I trailed off realizing how close we were and feeling my face heat up. "Do you need some help?" He asked and I nodded. He pushed himself off the ground, pushing me up as well. I was now on his lap and he was trying to undo whatever was caught on my leg. "Jeez, you got your pant leg stuck on the tree root..." he lifted his head and became a few inches from mine. "I-I..." I started but he shook his head, patted my head, then stood up helping me up as well. "You did good and we were out here for about three or four hours, let's go get something to eat okay" I nodded "yeah let's go" I said smiling and heading back towards the front door with Jeff on my heels. 'What was that voice though?'
