Chapter 6

Jeff's POV
"Why didn't you fight back?" I asked her, i know that shouldn't have been my first question but, i needed to know. "I-I.....I trust you" she said keeping her eyes on mine the entire time and i bet she could see the heartbreak in my eyes. 'She trusts me...' i said to myself before pulling her into a hug, i held her close to me, afraid if i let go she'd run far away. "Jeff?" I heard her say, in a small and quiet voice. I looked down at her "yes?" I was afraid she'd ask me to let her go, to leave. "Why did you kiss me?" I blushed "I-I like you...like more then a friend" She blushed madly and looked down. Not getting a response i assumed she didn't feel the same way as i did. I looked down then stood up. "Splendorman is coming coming over, he always has us play 7 minutes in heaven. Just a heads up." I heard a quiet thanks before i turned and left. I got to my room and slammed the door, leaning against it then slowly sliding down until i was sitting on the floor with my head in my hands. "Im such an idiot" i said and i stayed like that until Dinner, which was about 8:30pm. I left my room when Slender called us down for dinner. I was the last one to the table, which meant everyone had been waiting. "Jeffery, would you like to explain why you threatened Elta's life earlier today?" I heard Slender and i answered, i didn't want to seem irritable about the articles so i flat out stated "i dont know! I just saw her and got pissed off!" i looked at Elta, seeing tears in her eyes, she stood and ran off. Splendor stood. "I'll go introduce myself to the young lady" he said and followed her. I looked down. "Jeffery, i know thats not why,its the articles she has isn't it" i just nodded and continued eating. At about 9:00 Splendor came down, talking with Elta who was laughing. Her laugh is like a soft melody that you only hear every so often. "Lets play 7 minutes in Heaven!" Splendor announced and Elta smiled. We all walked to the living room and sat down. "Elta can go first, and I'll be time keeper" Elta reached into a hat that Splendor had placed in the center and pulled out a controller. She visibly became uncomfortable but sighed and stood, along with Ben, they went to the closet and Splendor locked the door. I prayed Ben would remember Elta's warning. After 7 long and painful minutes they got let out and they sat down. 5 rounds pasted and it was my turn. I reached in and grabbed a small drawing. I looked at Elta before standing, followed by her and Splendor and went into the closet. "7 minutes start now!" He said after she shut the door and locked it. I was sitting against one wall, her against the other. "Elta-" before i could speak i felt a soft pair of lips on mine. I was surprised but gently kissed back, not wanting to pull away. After a few moments she pulled away. "I like you more than a friend too Jeff" she said her voice quiet. I quickly kissed her again, my hands finding hers and intertwining out fingers. We stayed like that for a few minutes, a few sweet and beautiful minutes before she pulled away once again and I asked "Will you be my-" she cut me off again "yes, i will." I smile knowing she couldn't see then she backed away and sat against the same wall as when we were first locked in here. The doors opened and i stood, leaving and sitting with the others, Elta did the same taking her place across from me. After about 10 more rounds we all got tired, Elta and i ended up in the closet twice more, both leading to make out sessions but nothing more. I yawned and stood "im off to bed, night everyone" i said and walked off up the stairs to my door. I heard footsteps behind me and when i turned around i saw Elta at her door. "Good night Elta" i said, getting a simple "goodnight" in return. I went into my room and decided to go to sleep, with a horror movie on. I watched it for about 30 minutes then slowly fell asleep.
[a few hours later, still Jeff's POV]
I was shaken awake by someone and i sit up in a hurry, alert but not yet completely awake as my eyes start adjusting to the dark. There i saw Elta kneeling next to my bed, her hair slightly damp, she was in her pajamas but she was crying. "Elta? Whats wrong?" I asked, rubbing my eyes, finding her hand and lightly holding it. "I-i had a nightmare....is i-it alright if i...stay in here?" I nodded "Yeah, sure thing, here." I moved over leaving room for her to lay down. She crawled under the covers and snuggles close to me. I didn't know what to do. I never had someone, especially a girl, sleep in the same bed as me. I never had someone be this close to me, never had someone like Elta. Then as if my body knew what to do, one of my arms wrapped around her waist and the other moved so it cushioned her neck and so my hand could comb through her hair. I felt her body shake and she let out a sob. "Its alright Elta, i'll scare the monsters away" she buried her face against my chest, i felt her tears leak through my shirt and i held her tighter. Soon enough, she was asleep but i didn't let her go. I held her close and tightly, in a protective manner. I felt the rise and fall of her chest against me, i could feel her heart beating, and instead of getting the urge to kill, i was calm, feeling her breathing and heartbeat, it was.....well it was relaxing somehow. Slowly i felt myself slipping into the tight hold of sleep. Right before i did though. I whispered "i love you Elta" then kissed her forehead. Right before i slipped into the deep sleep though, i heard in response "i love you Jeff" then all faded away, and the darkness that was sleep consumed me.
