Writing Challenge

Egos Mentioned:

GoogleplierThe HostThe Author

Prompt: "I am not human. I never was. So why are you expecting me to act like one?"

*concept; nanobites got into marks brain and coded all the egos creating them in real life*

Google blinked at her, waiting for Katelyn to reply. She didn't know how to answer. He looked human, so why not act human?

"I just— I don't know, G. Everyone else is — nuts. You're the only one who can sit down and think logically."

"Dr. Iplier is perfectly capable of a logistical conversation," Google argued.

"Except he concludes every person is dying when he's finished talking to them." She paused looking down at her thumbs. "You're made of exactly what's expected. You are Google. Machinery. You're supposed to be robotic with an artificial intelligence. Those things out there, the other Ipliers, they all think they're real. They think they cut and bleed, but they don't."

"I am run by over a million nano-bites. Each specifically aware of their existence that sustains a physical form, and artificial intelligence."

Katelyn leaned on her elbow. "If only we can make the others realize that."

Google fixed his glasses. "My system has ran those numbers. 92% states that the Ipliers would not come to the realization of what they are made out of."

"And the other 8%?"

" Exaggerated tone initiated, Do you reaaaally want to know?"

"Enlighten me."

"The only two ipliers that maintain enough mental stability are The Host and The Author."

"Two people who think they can control whats going on around them just by saying it. Great." Though she could agree they were smart people, they still seemed crazy in the real world in comparison.

" Error - Correction, The Host is considered blind by the community, he speaks of whats going on. The Author writes what is going on. Since existing in this world they have began working together."

Kat sighed. "So they're the 8%."

"Error - Correction, They are the 4%."

"Who's the other 4%?"

"Sarcasm initiated, Yeah, I wonder who..."

"No need to be a jerk about it. Just because I'm a doctor doesn't mean I'm completely aware of what's obvious to you."

"Sympathy Engaged, My apologies, Katelyn. As the humans state, I am wound tighter than a top."

"Yeah, well you're better at hiding it." She let out a long breath. "Alright G, I think that's enough for today. It's getting late." She placed her hands on the table and stood up. "I'll grab another doctor to put you away, we'll —"

"NO!" He called out.

His sudden outburst caused her to stop dead in her tracks. He didn't initiate any action, he just called out.

"A request Doctor."

"I'm listening."

"Please, do not put me back in that concrete block. I have been created to hold emotions. These emotions tell me I do not like this holding zone. Do not put me in there."
