Chapter 27: Confession

"Bakugou! Bakugou!". Kirishima called for the young man's name. Izuku, Kirishima, Ochaco, and Iida made it up to the balcony in which the flame was.

Right before Kirishima was about to speak, his heart stopped. Izuku, Ochaco and Iida, they all looked in horror at the sight in front of them.

You gently set Bakugou down on the ground. His face was pale. Under your fingers, you could feel his body temperature decreasing.

You caressed his cheek in a caring manner. His eyes opened up, but they were half-lidded. He brought his paw to your face.

"Y-You...came back". He breathed out, gently stroking your hair. Just hearing his weakened voice made your heart drop. You didn't want him to die. He was...after everything he's done...he just. You shook your head in sadness. You still felt that everything that happened was because of you.

There was a knot in your throat as you spoke up. "Of course I did. I couldn't let him- Oh Bakugou, this all my fault- if only I've got here sooner"

"Maybe- I-its better- its better this way"

"Don't talk like that". You reassured him. "You'll be alright. We're together now- everything is going to be fine". You wanted to believe that, but somewhere in your heart, you knew that wasn't going to happen. You just wished that everything was different.

Even Bakugou knew that he was dying. He.was the one feeling his demise. There was nothing, no one could do.

He remained motionless. His eyes were losing conscious. His crimson orbs were slowly getting paler by the passing second. The light was slowly leaving his eyes.

His vision was getting dark. He couldn't see you but could only hear your voice. Pretty soon, that wouldn't last long either.

"Please, you have to get up". You pleaded. Tears secreted out of your eyes as you pleaded for him to stay with you.

"I can't Y/N". You held the paw that was caressing your cheek.

"You have to"

"Just Go...". You shook your head at that response.

"No. I'm going to stay with you this time. I'm not going back". You firmly stated. This time, you weren't going to leave his side. Never again will you abandon him. You remembered back at home, when you would check on him with the mirror, you remembered seeing his depressed state. This time things will change you thought. You won't let him feel alone again.

Unfortunately, his hearing went dark. His eyes were shutting. Before he died, he made one final statement. "At least...I got to see you...one...last...". You grip on his paw lessen. His paw hit the ground.

You covered your mouth in shock. Your hands found their way to his torn shirt. Your nails dug into his shirt. "N-No! Bakugou! Bakugou!". You pleaded for him. His was unresponsive. "Wake Up! Don't leave me. Please Don't"

The hard truth hit your face when you realized that he was dead. Immediately, a huge wave of sadness swam in you. You wept into his chest, pulling his corpse into an embrace. Your sniffs filled the room. You still didn't get to tell him. You never did get to him. You hope somewhere, wherever he was, he could hear the words coming from your mouth.

"I love you". You whispered into great despair.

As you said that, the last of the flame burned out. Kirishima and the others looked down in despair. Not only did the spell that was cast on them years ago will never go away now but most importantly, their master, their dear friend was dead. Bakugou, after so long, finally learned to love and now he earned her love back, but it was too late.
