"Hey!"

A green haired boy smirked as he sautered over to an unsuspecting female training under the cloudless blue sky. Lush tall grass rippled around her in the breeze.

"What's up?" Drew flicked his bangs, they shined bright in the Hoenn sun.

Bright blue eyes fixed onto the confidant boy. She glanced around the grassy clearing, making sure he was talking to her. "Me...?"

Drew snickered as he flicked the wild girl's forehead. "Ouch!" Sapphire cried. The angered girl clutched her head.

"Who do you think I'm talking to August?" The irritating boy smirked, he leaned forward with a hand on his hip.

"My name ain't August!" The bouncy-haired dexholder growled. She pulled a pokemon from her fanny pack.

"Woah, woah" Drew smirked as backed off, the lush green grass parting around his ankles. "Don't get upset June." His eyes glinted mischeviously. "You know you can't beat me in a pokemon battle!"

A twitch developed over Sapphire's eye as she bared her fangs. "Is that a challenge?" She poised herself in a fighting position, lowering herself near the grass.

"Do you want it to be?"

Ruby swished his arm to the side as he dived behind a glacier sculpture. "Milotic, ice beam and spin!"

May released a small squeak as her Venasaur's beautiful petalblizzard was frozen midair. The crystalized flowers swirled around Ruby's Milotic, accenting its graceful demeanor.

"Vine whip!"

Venasaur growled as it released two whipping vines, lashing out for vengence.

"Spin faster!" Ruby commanded. Milotic began spinnning like a typhoon, drawing in more frosted petals.

May's eyes widened as she realized too late the plan Ruby had formed. "No! Venasaur!" The contest idol stretched out her hand desperately.

She was too late.

Venasaur's vines slammed into the breathtaking icy tornado, breaking it apart.

Ruby smirked as he pushed down his glasses for a better view.

Milotic released a crystal clear wave of water, pushing back Venasaur with a cry. The graceful pokemon lept out of the floating oasis and was lit by the light reflecting off the frozen petals.

May's mouth dropped open as Milotic released one final blow to her pride.

"Ice beam!"

The beautiful water type shot out a final move, freezing the water from before. With a swish of it's tail, the ice broke, shooting in all directions.

Fragments of ice hit the frosted petals, they exploded into sparkles that gracefully piroetted down.

The contest idol stared captivated by the breathtaking atmosphere created by Ruby. Her thoughts strayed to her Venasaur, she wondered if she'd ever be able too-

May froze, her eyes widening. It was a diversion, a trap.

The bouncy haired girl spun around, her heart thumping. She only caught brief sight of her pokemon before the largest piece of ice crashed into it.

"No Venasaur!" May stumbled as she ran toward her defeated pokemon. The girl cradled the leaf green creature's head as it looked up at her. "Im so sorry! It was all my fault!" May cried helplessly.
