Gold P.O.V

"Johto, so this is what its like." I pondered.

My footsteps were inaudible as I silently trodded over the the grass frosted with ice. The moon's light basked the valley with an eerie glow, not a pokemon in sight.

I felt a smile tug at my lips as I gazed at the peaceful horizon. Snapping out of my daze, I scowled.

"No!" I hissed in my mind as I ran my fingers through the fringe that shadowed half of my face. "Stupid idiot! Remember what happened last time!?" I frantically reminded myself.

I felt a strangled noise die in my throat as my fearful golden eyes observed my surroundings timidly. I ran my fingers over the scar that ran its way around my neck.

I still remembered my screams as the hot metal scorched its way through my flesh. The searing agony as the pattern was permanantly branded on my once soft, smooth skin. The collar a reminder as to where I stood.

And what would happen if I disobeyed him again.

I forced my eyes to become as lifeless as steel and cursed myself at enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the night. I was evil I wasn't supposed to enjoy peace.

I let out a heaving sigh. Then why did I love it so much? I loved it when a pokemon was reunited with its trainor. When someone sided with good won against my allies. When a rare, powerful pokemon we had been researching was stolen then set free to live a life as they saw fit.

And most of all, I loved it when people smiled. Bright shining grins, not like those disgusting sneers exchanged by my organization. Joy filled laughs, not anything similiar to the dark chuckles of my teammates.

I let my gaze once again soften and wander around the vast landscape. There was also something that was already throwing me off about Johto.

As soon as I set foot within its borders, A strange itching had started in my chest. Almost as if something was trying to break through a wall within me. I felt an emotion I had never felt before. I felt at ease. Almost as if I belonged in this strange vast land.

I shook my head and checked my watch. Now wasn't the time for some soul searching. I had a mission to fulfill.

And if I failed?

Well, I would die of course.

I patiently waited for the other sides party under the vast star speckled sky. How long were these so called "dexholders" take?

Finally, I saw figures in the distance. As they grew closer, I could make out 6 individuals. They all walked with pride and purpose in every stride. A sense of righteousness cloaked them.

I resisted the ache in my chest. The throbbing this region gave me sparking to a height it had never been to before. Just being infront of these people increased my lust to be free, not be some errand boy blindfolded in the darkness.

All six stopped infront of me, the harsh winter air chilling everyone to the bones.

A boy with a crimson eyes shot me a severe glare. "You're the grunt from team lunar?"

I hid my scowl. I always hated the term grunt. It made me sound so stupid!

But what could be done about it? He was correct.

"Yeah, I am." My voice felt forgein to my own ears. He had never let me speak over the two years of my life I recalled. Only this mission had I ever been granted permission.

I was surprised how clear my voice sounded even after years of no use. It still rang like a bell.

To the far left, the red haired boy's expression shifted from a cold steely glare into confusion. His eyes glazed over as if he was trying to remember something important but couldn't grasp the memory fully.
