I was driving like a maniac when Michael said there was something wrong with Shelby, I went to the exact location of where he said she would be and then I heard my phone ringing and noticed that it was Shelby. “Hey where are you I’m at Subway like Mi-“ *Just keep the car running I’m almost there* “Ok but what’s going on?” I said I was scared for her I wanted to protect her at any cost. *I’ll explain everything just get ready ok* she said out of breath she must have been running for a while, “Ok,” I said she hung up and I turned the car on and opened the passenger side door so she could get an easy access into the car. After a couple of minutes I saw a figure running towards the car it got closer and then I noticed that it was Shelby, she was wearing a pink tank top and black shorts and her hair was up in a pony tail that seemed to be falling down from all the running. She was getting close to the car and I was ready to drive off when I noticed there was a man running behind her, looked familiar and then it hit me he was one of the guys who I met at the mall when I first took Shelby out. She jumped in the car and quickly shut the door, “Drive,” she said while fumbling with the seat belt, I quickly hit the gas and we took off my window was slightly down when I heard the man yelling her name. When we were finally on the road I looked over at Shelby who had a terrified look on her face it kind of looked like she was going to cry, I took one hand off the wheel and intertwined it with hers it felt nice because she was holding it tight.

“So…um…what exactly happened, I mean if you feel comfortable talking about it,” I said I didn’t want her to tell me anything that she didn’t want to talk about. “Oh ya um well you see…you probably won’t believe me if I tell you,” she said while laughing a little bit, “Just tell me I want to know what’s going on,” I said. Her grip on my had got tighter which I really didn’t mind cause I felt like I was protecting her, “Well you know the band One Direction?” she asked I thought that was a weird thing to say but I answered her “Ya what about them?” I asked. “Well my mom is their new manager for them and well they kind of live with me know and for some reason Zayn is mad at me and I have no idea why and the guys told me to run and…this is just a crazy mess,” she said while placing her head in her free hand. I was kind of confused about the whole thing but then I thought about the phone call and who answered Shelby’s cell, “I think I might know why he’s mad,” I said “Really why?” she asked me while lifting her head up. “Well not too long ago I called you cell to tell you that you left your shirt at my house and someone answered it” I told her she was silent for a while but then she started to talk again.

We finally got to my house and we were greeted with a lot of hugging, “Oh my goodness, Shelby, are you ok what’s going on what happened?” McKenna said while squeezing the life out of Shelby. I looked at Shelby who seemed to be on the verge of tears and McKenna let go of her and took her in another room, I started to follow them but McKenna told me that Shelby doesn’t like other people to see her cry and that it would be best for me to stay out of the room till she is ready. I went into the living room where Ashton, Michael, and Calum were they were sitting down quietly while I was passing back and forth, I was worried about her I wanted to help but I didn’t know how. “Calm down mate sit down it will be fine,” Michael said I took his advice and sat down I placed my head in my hands, after about ten minutes of waiting McKenna finally came out of the room I stood up and walked over to her “Is she ok?” I asked. “Ya she’s fine she’s talking to her mom right now I explained everything and where we are, she should be alright,” she told me, “Guys I don’t know about you but this feels like a sop opera,” I heard Ashton say I did a smirk and then went to see Shelby.

I entered the spare room and saw Shelby on the phone, “Ya I’m fine he’s really sweet…Ya I don’t know why but he was chasing me what else was I supposed to do…Ok I’m going to stay here with McKenna for a while until it calms down…Ok love you too bye,” she ended the conversation. “Can I come in?” I asked as I lightly knocked on the open door, she looked up and then turned her face so I couldn’t see the tear stains “Um…ya,” she said I sat down next to her on the bed “So what did your mom say?” I asked her, she did a little sniffle and started to talk “She said I can stay here until everything is cleared up and that she will be over tomorrow to give me some clothes, oh um is it ok if I stay here a while I mean if it’s I can stay at McKenna’s,” she said I place my hand on her knee and I looked at her “I don’t mind you staying her it’s ok I promise,” I told her she smiled and thanked me. I stood up and held out my hand for her so we could go into the living room where everyone else was, she smiled and took my hand and we left the room together.

Zayn (point of view)

I was running after Shelby, who was surprisingly fast, I was close to her when she jumped into a car and took off. I stood there for the longest time yelling her name and terrified of who was driving the car, I took out my phone and decided to call one of the guys to come and pick me up. *Ring…Ring…Ri-Hey dude where are you?* Louis said while answering the phone.

“I’m at Subway it’s not too far from the house,”

*Where’s Shelby don’t tell me you killed her*

“Well here’s the thing she kind of jumped into a car with someone and drove off”

*What? Where did she go?*

“Louis, if you think I knew I would be heading there right now,”

*Ya that’s true just hang on we will be there in a minute*

“Ok just hurry up,”

I ended the conversation and stood outside the store, was thinking through my head of where she might have gone or who was in the car with her but mind wanted me to think the worst. The guys finally drove up and Louis like a smart mouth rolled down the window “Do you want a ride stranger?” “Shut up Louis,” I said back “Liam, Zayn said a bad word,” Louis said like a five year old “Come on Louis how old are you really?” I asked him he crossed his arms and stopped talking the entire ride back to the house.

We went inside and we found Mrs. White sitting on the couch on the phone with someone, she hung up and then looked at us. “Well I know where Shelby is but she told me not to tell you guys because she is scared you guys will kill her,” she said while crossing her arms. Even though she wasn’t our mom it felt like it we explained what happened and that I felt bad for chasing her out of the house, Mrs. White walked over to me and gave me a look “You’re coming with me to give Shelby some stuff I want you to apologize to her,” she said “Yes mam,” I said I was absolutely terrified when she was mad. That night I couldn’t sleep I was worried of what I was going to tell her or if she would even want to talk to me, I went outside and sat down breathing in the summer air it felt nice but it was lonely. “Hey are you ok?” I heard someone say I turned around and noticed that Liam was right behind me, “Oh I’m fine just thinking,” I said. “I know you feel bad about what happened but there was no reason for you to chase her, we could have talked,” he said as he sat down next to me, I kept silent so I could hear what he had to say “Zayn, you know you’re like my brother and I don’t like it when you’re upset, please say something,” he said.

“Ya I know it’s just she is so young and I feel like I need to protect her,” I said while placing my head in my hands, I felt Liam put his hand on my back trying his best to comfort me. “You know you’re not alone we are all trying to protect her she’s family but we don’t know her that much only that she had to grow up quickly for her mom’s sake,” he said “Ya I guess I just don’t know what to say to her tomorrow what if she doesn’t want to talk to me-“ “Everything will be fine she just needed to cool down after this and I know you need to cool down too, come on lets go to bed,” Liam said while getting up. I did the same and we headed inside, I went upstairs and found that Shelby’s silver necklace was still here. I picked it up and examined it while sitting on her bed, it turns out it was a locket I opened it up and saw a little picture of her dad. I felt so bad that she left it here so I decided that I would take it with me in the morning because she probably was freaking out, after a while I fell asleep on her bed.
