When Mango and Nori got to the seashore, they threw themselves into the waves and swam far out into the ocean.
You might think that's dangerous for a landprincess. Landpeople would never do this. They would be too scared of drowning. And they would have a point.
For Mango, however, it wasn't dangerous because the Princess of Argon had another secret. This one was so top secret, she didn't even know about it herself.
Her grandmother had been a merwoman. Queen Abalone's father, Mango's grandfather, had a baby with a merwoman. The baby was called Abalone.
Soon after giving birth, the merwoman had died, and Abalone's father married a landwoman. So the Queen of Argon had been brought up by a landmother. Nobody had ever spoken about her true mother.
Mango didn't know anything about this secret part of her family history, but she had it in her blood.
